Very handy! I have several of these and wanted one for my hiking day pack for emergency purposes. Great fire starter and the paracord and whistle are a handy addition. Good size and lightweight - I bought a little dry bag to carry it in, not included

Thick and easy to hold. Striker is functional, if a tad on the small side. Easier for putting in a pack, but tough to hold with gloves. Throws a large shower of hot sparks mince you get the initial coating wore off a bit.

Not too bad, takes a little bit to get the magnesium off the rod. But did the job, made a fire.

Bought 2. Great performance, what I was looking for in both my hunt pack and haul packs for emergency fire starter. Will probably add some magnesium for start base. Very pleased

This works great. Makes me feel like a sophisticated caveman. I use these for starting up a fire in my charcoal grill. Admittedly, it takes a lot of time and tries, but it works. I like using a piece of toilet paper. If you REALLY want to get a fire started instantly, use rubbing alcohol. Overall a fun tool that doesnt require batteries or lighter fluid. Also cheap and affordable

Easy to use, fast sparks of a good length that will definitely start a fire going. I personally wanted something like would be used in the Game of Thrones, like that one scene when they take that dead dude to kings landing and the onion knight lights up that torch. Something sturdy. Anyway, what arrived looks like a pencil of some kind on a lanyard but it works. Do we really need it? In an age of disposable lighters, propane tanks, stoves, grills, griddles and fire pits, no we do not need it. But we could maybe need it and that's good enough for me. Being my typical neurotic self, I secretly said ok, let me buy a dozen more but I stopped myself. If you have no self control (my own is borderline at best) feel free to get a couple dozen boxes. You never know, winter can come to Florida or hey a horde of zombies could spring up from eating tainted McRibs. You never know. It has a good survival value to it, I suppose. But honestly, it was a thing to get just for fun. Adult fun, I definitely would not let minors or pyros near this. Recommend. 👍✅
