Easy to put together and wire

I was happy to see that these are small discreet Edison E27 holders that appear to be made from fireproof material. They appear to have the standard construction, however, the feed wires need to be either terminated in a lug or I would have to use stiff single core cable, as they are push fit.Because the connections are push fit, ie there are no terminal screws such as on conventional light bulb holders. Other things to note is that there is no provision for a cable clamp, meaning that I can't use these for heaving light fittings as there is no cable support.Also, the terminal cover is a one time push fit that snaps into place. These can be levered off again, but there is a risk of breaking the snap tags. So my advise, don't push the terminal cover on untill you are ready to finish the job.Intended for a table lamp one time setup, as there is an internal threaded screw hole for mounting on the table lamp male threaded stem. Great for the table lamp purpose intended, but don't risk these as ceiling light holders with heavy lampshades etc.

Instead of a screw fit you just push the wires in - and they come straight out again…

I ordered these as the holder on one of my lamps had broken and these were nearly identical. The wire fitting into these is by pushing the bared wire into a clip and the clip grips the wire so it cannot be pulled out. Where these fall down is for holding the lamp shade on. There is one threaded ring on the body but nothing on the body to screw the ring against to hold the shade firmly. There either needs to be a solid moulding for the shade to rest against or another ring so there is one each side of the shade mount. You cannot hold a shade securely in place with a single ring.
