article parfait mais le livreur a laissé le colis dans la neige au bas de mon stationnement près de la route.

Alright, fellow humans whose spines occasionally feel like a stack of slightly misaligned dinner plates, let me tell you about the Balanced Body Pilates Oov Training Tool. I saw this thing online and thought, "Is that... a foam speed bump for your back? What even is an Oov?" But the promise of spinal support and core engagement was too intriguing (and my back was complaining loudly), so I took the plunge. When this oddly shaped foam object arrived, it felt surprisingly substantial. It's contoured in a way that looks like it was designed by someone who really understands the curves of a human spine (or maybe a very comfortable snake). My initial thought was, "Okay, how do I even put this on?" Using the Oov for the first time felt a bit like trying to balance on a friendly, supportive cloud. You lie on it, and it cradles your spine, gently encouraging it to lengthen. It's a strange sensation at first, like your back is finally exhaling after holding its breath for decades. My core muscles, which usually only make an appearance when I'm trying to lift something heavy or laughing really hard, suddenly seemed to wake up and pay attention. "Oh, this is what we're supposed to be doing!" they seemed to say. It's not just for lying there, though. You can do exercises on it! Pilates moves become a whole new level of challenging and effective when your base is slightly unstable. It forces you to engage those deep stabilizing muscles that usually just hang out and watch. My planks are wobblier, my crunches feel more intense, and I'm pretty sure I'm developing the core strength of a seasoned tightrope walker (who occasionally falls off). The Oov comes in different sizes, which is important. You need the right fit for your spine, otherwise, I imagine it's less "supportive cloud" and more "uncomfortable foam lump." Mine fits just right, like a custom-made cradle for my vertebrae. If your spine is feeling compressed, your core is in need of a wake-up call, and you're open to a piece of fitness equipment that looks a little unusual but delivers real results, give the Oov a try. It's become an indispensable part of my stretching and core routine. My spine feels happier, my core is (slowly) getting stronger, and I'm thoroughly impressed with this weirdly wonderful foam friend.

This is a wonderful tool to have to add to or complete your pilates equipment. Great core workout. The surface is not uncomfortable at all. You really should have an Oov trained instructor guide you through the exercises to ensure you're getting the best use of this equipment.

I have sciatica, and my body is very very out of balance. Specifically my right hip flexor and hamstrings are tight, my right pelvic floor and rib cage are tight, and my abs on that side . . it's like they don't exist. I've been in and out of physical therapy for years. I've read books about facilitating the mind muscle connection to fix the issue. I tried pilates in the hope to connect to my core, but couldn't do any of the exercises without hurting my back, but thankfully it did put me onto the oov. The Oov allows my body to lengthen that psoas, in a way that has never been possible before, and suddenly everything else can start engaging in a better way. I've only been using it for 2 weeks, but the progress is soooo impressive. I feel like I could write a soliloquy about the damn piece of foam, but suffice it to say I don't know if I ever would have been able to reconnect with my core without this thing. I will update as time goes by and hopefully the progress will continue to be amazing! Almost 4 months in, and I'm still crazy about the Oov, which isn't showing any signs of wear. I went from only being able to lay on it every other day, to doing 45 min a day. I can now do the double leg stretch with a yoga ball under my feet, and I can do ballet arms with my legs in table top. I hope in a few more months I will be doing a full dead bug, but I've never felt more in control of my core. It is truly waking up muscles I don't think have actively contracted in years, and makes me want to cry tears of joy at times. Make sure to pretend your legs are light as feathers, to sink your hips down into their sockets, and squeeze an imaginary ball between your legs, and of course go slow as a snail!

So excited for this, I use the oov at my OT and decided it was worth the investment (in money and space - we live in a tiny home). I purchased through balanced body's Amazon store to ensure the product came new since the description says it is frequently returned. Shipping was a week faster than expected. Love the versatility of workouts you can do, but most of the time I'm just standing on it to strengthen glutes and quads. I wish I had more space to get all 3 sizes, but just stoked to have the medium for now.
