I just started making kombucha and this set had everything I needed except for the bottles. It was well packaged and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The gallon jar is a great size for small batches.

I was brand new to kombucha making before my husband purchased this for me as a gift. Everything stated in the description is included, the SCOBY arrived healthy (and has thrived!), and the instructions were very clear on how to use the kit. I have since made several batches of kombucha with this and could not be happier with the results. Thank you!

We had our first successful batch last week and we bought 2 starter kits. One starter kit was fthis one rom Fermentaholics and the other was from a local brew supply store. We wanted to compare and see which klt was a better value. The scoby in this kit was a nice size and of nice quality. This kit came with some very nice instructions and everything we needed to get started. We brewed the tea as instructed and added the Scoby with the sugar then let it sit in a closet for a week. After a week we pulled the kombucha out of the closet and tasted it and out of both kits we preferred the taste and quality from this kit. The funny part is that this kit was about 60% less of the cost of the kit we purchased at the brew supply store and the scoby we got in our kit from the brew supply store was super teeny tiny. This kit was worth every penny. I am going to buy another kit and give it to my Grandmother. We turned her onto our brew and she loved it and she wants to brew Kombucha now. This is a good little kit but they could have included a few more things to make it a true beginner starter kit. I would gladly have paid the difference. The kit does not include: the glass bottles to put your kombucha in when it’s done; any tea leaves to brew the necessary tea to make the ( you can’t use earl grey, herbal or fruit teas) ; pictures of a healthy SCOBY (if you’ve never seen one before it looks pretty weird- this would have saved me hours of online research); or what the ph of finished kombucha should be. It is however a good kit and the SCOBY is quite large compared to another product I purchased. Totally worth the money but I wouldn’t call it a true beginners kit)

I've never made kombucha before but my boyfriend regularly drinks it from the store so I thought this would be a fun activity to do together! It's been really fun learning about the process and hopefully we will save some waste and money by making our own. First batch isn't done yet, but the instructions are good, just make sure you are keeping your Kombucha warm enough, we had that problem at first. You could probably buy all of the included items separately and save a little bit of money, but this kit was the cheapest I could find and is so convenient and gives you everything you need to start except the tea and sugar. I would recommend!

I have been interested in starting to brew my own Kombucha. My husband surprised me with this kit and it's a great starter kit. Now it is for brewing only, if you haven't researched how to brew there are many great reference books and videos.
