Keeps excellent time!
I got this clock works to replace a radio-controlled unit that had gone bad in a Howard Miller clock. Fit just perfect, except I couldn't use the second hand as it protruded into the glass lens of the clock. Not an issue with the clock works, just with the clock body I was putting it in. Has kept perfect time for about a month now. One observation though, it does NOT have a Seiko logo so not sure if it's a Seiko movement or not, but seems to work fine. Smooth sweep second hand (when installed) and no ticking the seconds. Hope it last longer than the radio-controlled one that only lasted until the first battery change. Time will tell (pun intended!).

Merchant gives detailed instructions for installing the unit. A+ (Please read update)
Follow-up on the original review below which was written when I first purchased the clock movement: My clock using this movement is keeping perfect time but it took me longer than I had expected to get the main nut holding the movement to the dial face adjusted correctly. I wrote the review as soon as I had installed the movement and it appeared to be working correctly - but shortly after I wrote the review the clock stopped. I have replaced several clock movements on several clocks in the past and I thought that I would reinstall the movement quickly and everything would be fine - not so. My dial face may have been slightly thinner than it should have been for this particular movement so I had to install a spacer shim/washer between the movement and dial face. I did this to keep the hands from rubbing on the clock glass. Once I got the correct shim/spacer installed found that if I did not tighten the main locknut tight enough, the movement would swivel against the back of the dial face - causing the hands not to line up on the numerals correctly. If I tightened the locknut enough to prevent the movement from swiveling then the hands would stop moving when I reassembled the unit. Overtightening the nut will put pressure on the movement case and cause the movement to stop. (The hands were not hitting the glass at this point). Eventually I got everything adjusted properly but a project which should have taken me 30 minutes at most took me hours. Consequently, never having had this difficulty with previous clock movement replacements I have to assume my problems are particular to this movement only. Bottom line - the movement works perfectly. Measure your dial thickness and order a movement designed for your dial thickness. If you purchase you may have to spend a bit more time getting the clock to work perfectly. Exactly what I wanted and so far it works as I expected. I used my own clock hands but will keep the hands that came with the unit for future use. .................................................................................................................................................................. Original review: I like the fact that the seller gave detailed instructions how to match up the hands so I didn't have to do a trial and error approach and I like the cautionary information about not stripping the gears on the inside. The only complaint that I have about the Seiko mechanism is that the time adjustment knob on the read of the unit is too small. Usually the knob on these types of movements extends slightly outside of the movement which makes adjusting the time the first time easy. On this unit the knob is flush with the side and because the knob is a bit stiff to turn trying to turn it is more difficult than in other models. This Seiko is a bit more expensive than non-Seiko units but if it keeps time as advertised the the $ is well spent.

That wasn't what I needed. I use the motor or piece where it has the music.
That wasn't the piece needed. What is wrong is that there is no music and the number don't move. I thing I need the little motor to move the number and listen to the music.

New guts for the clock!
Seems to catch up once in a while and stall on a second. But that has happened twice and has been running trouble free the rest of the time, a number of months.

Good replacement works for a large Ikea clock
I've got a pretty big Ikea wall clock 14" diameter. It's got a fatal flaw. The hands are not balanced so the quartz clockwork starts going off after about 2-3 years. Instead of throwing out the whole clock I buy these works from Orange County Clocks. Not too difficult to replace. The last replacement works died after three years. If these last three years- good enough. Takes less than ten minutes to swap out the works. (I wish someone would make really large balanced hands to replace the Ikea ones. The clearances are so tight it's impossible to counterweight the hands)
