Free to Air Satellite Receiver Full HD DVB-S2 + USB Port Schedule HD Program Recorder, Labgear VSAT02 Compact TV Satellite Box with Remote Control

This is an incredible little box for the money. I had a Technomate box which worked well until a year or so ago and this box was bought as a replacement. Though I liked the old Technomate, this is in a different class. It is much smaller, easier to install, set-up satellites, favourites and channels than any other box I've used and it responds to the remote control much more quickly. I'll be buying some more of these for the other rooms in the house. Picture and sound quality is excellent, although for some reason the sound of French channels France 2,3 and 4 on Eutelsat 5 is somewhat distorted. If you can live without an EPG and streaming services I would recommend the TVSAT2 wholeheartedly!

I've given this receiver 4 stars, but it would have been 5 stars, but for what seem to me two major failings in LabGear's marketing. The receiver itself is every bit as good as my previous one, with the added advantage that it is very compact & therefore doesn't require a lot of space. The picture's good, the sound is good, you can organise channels as you want them, you can re-name them and. importantly, you can either delete or ask it to skip channels you will never watch, thus avoiding clutter.However, I do undertand why some reviewers decided to send it sstraight back to Amazon. I would never have been able to set it up properly, if I hadn't learnt how to do it with my previous receiver. The instructions are woefully inadequate. For example, I wanted to receive channels from 3 different satellites. To do this I first had to tell the receiver that my equipment included a switch (called a DiseqC) and give each satellite a different letter. All this is easy to do, but it is not even mentioned in the instructions.Secondly it was a big mistake to pre-load channels from Astra 2: my receiver was set up for Northern Ireland, whereas I live in Scotland &, in additon, all the ITV channels and channels like More 4, Film 4, etc, had moved to a different transponder since they were loaded. All the pre-loading did was to create confusion: far better to have given the user clear instructions and left them to scan the satellite(s) themselves.In short, before you buy this, you need to know a reasonable amount about setting up a satellite receiver or arrange to get an expert to do it for you.

Easy to install, I was worried as I never did this before and I needed to change HD. But no worries with this device it was easy and a pleasure. All is working very well.Another benefit the device is very compact and does not need a lot of room.

From Ireland. Not receiving all channels. Itv 1,2,3,4 and plus channels. No BBC 3 or 4. Plenty of other channels, of no interest to me. Emailed the company, no reply.

I bought this when I cancelled my Sky Q account, expecting that I could use the existing satellite dish. however when I set the device up I found that some channels worked fine (eg ITV1 HD, ITV2 HD, Channel 4 HD, QVC, Quest) but many didn’t (eg any of the BBC channels, Yesterday, etc). I emailed the company’s tech support and was told this: “ If you want all of the channels / transponders then you need to attach the VSAT02 to an older KU band LNB as used in the Legacy Sky Plus HD prior to the release of Sky Q. The box is probably OK however it will not work with a Sky Q Wideband LNB”.So if you’re using a dish that you have previously used with Sky Q this isn’t the box for you. It’s a shame as it’s quite a nice little device other than that.

Plug and play, excellent picture and more channels than expected.The box is very small & has so far out performed my expectations.Bought expecting a few problems during setup, however once the correct salalite is selected and you read the insturctions it performs very well.Setting up a channel list is a bit of a pain but no less so than a new Sky box.Good value, does what is supposed to do and arrived quickly.

Seems to be of reasonable quality, given its price, with a satisfactory remote control. Set up is quite easy from entering the menu, ignoring the little booklet that accompanies the unit, with very clear picture reception when tuned in. Can't comment on longevity yet, but I'm very happy so far.

Good quality unit. Excellent picture. There was a need to alter the numbering of the channels, but using the enclosed instructions, this was easy to do. Highly recommended.
