I purchased this vacuum after my last one (of a different brand) died a death after 3 years use. All it needed was a replacement suction hose in the head, but as with everything nowadays, it is now no longer made and the brand is no more and so replacement parts cannot be purchased. We live in such a wasteful, throwaway society nowadays, very sad. So i had no alternative than to purchase a new vacuum, and did not want to pay a lot of money for another short lived item.This vacuum fit the bill. On paper, it has a larger more powerful motor than my last one, and a more powerful battery life, so I was intrigued to see how it performed.It came very well packaged, a nice solid box and moulded packaging to prevent damages in transit. First impressions were that it was very well built, it is a nice solid item, easy to put together, nice and shiny and feels good quality. It is not too heavy but feels like it has been made well and is solid.It was very quick to put together and then I charged it up for the first time. It already had a small charge on it from straight out of the box but it asked that the battery be charged before first use so i dutifully plugged it in. I don't know how long it took to fully charge as I just plugged it in and left it. Perhaps an hour or two?My only bug bear about the charging, is that the usage monitor, which has a bright LED display showing the % of battery power remaining, is actually upside down? great if you can read upside down, but as you are pushing the vacuum along the carpet, you don't actually know if it is running at 96% capacity, or 69% , bit weird! Its not a deal breaker, I can live with it, but I think it is a daft idea, who wants to have turn the machine upside down to read how much battery is remaining...Apart form that, the machine works well. It has a great suction, and has three levels of suction, low, med and high. I used mainly high, and was able to hoover my staircase, landing, hallway , bedroom and office on the one charge at full power. I am sure I would have easily been able to do the whole house plus some on the lowest power, but I have dogs and my carpet needs full power. The low power is great for rugs and bathroom mats to avoid them getting sucked up the hose. And the low is also great for lino floors too.There is a button on top of the unit where you tend to rest your fingers whilst in use, but don't do what i did! I wasn't sure what the button was for, so I pressed it, low and behold the bottom of the waste collection unit opened and all the dust and dirt and dog hairs that I had just spent 20 mins collecting promptly fell out onto the carpet. doh.. who put that stupid button there??? there is already a button lower down to open the cap so you don't need one on the top aswell, so it is a pointless exercise and in my mind, it just feels uncomfortable under your fingers and gets in the way. But again, not a deal breaker because I like how powerful the vacuum is and the length of time that the battery lasts.Only time will tell how long the machine lasts. Based on first impressions I would say it should last me a few years. I would hope it will last me a few years as I don't want to have to spend £100 on a new vacuum every year, I have better things to spend my money on. But if it last me at least 3-4 years, I will be happy, even more years and I will be VERY happy. It feels solid so here's hoping..Just remember not to press the top red button when you have a full collection pot! And learn how to read upside down if you want to read how much power is remaining on the battery.Finally, the head of the vacuum has a lot of movement so you can get into the tightest of corners, but it does also seem to have a bit of a mind of its own, it moves this way and that when you want it to move straight ahead. Again, it is not a deal breaker, it is a vacuum, I can live with it, nobody died...Overall, it is a good solid machine, nice and powerful, easy to use, and sturdy and not too heavy.Here's to a good few years worth of happy vacuuming!

Purchased this for a little under £100. I wasn't expecting Shark / Dyson quality, but for the price, why would I? The reason I got this, was because I got lazy and couldn't be bothered to carry my heavy corded shark hoover up the stairs. This one sits hidden next to a wardrobe in the master bedroom.It arrived well packaged and was extremely simple to set up. A few clicks, and it was ready to go for a test drive. I did the master bedroom, 2x kids bedrooms and the landing. This was on full power and the battery went from 65%, down to 15%, which is not bad at all. After I finished, I checked the dust collector and to my surprise, it was full. I have to say, for the money, I was seriously impressed. As a test, I went back over the master bedroom with my corded shark, and it did pick up a tiny bit of extra dust, but not much!The hoover runs quietly, so much so, that I was not expecting it to have picked up as much as it did. The build quality is better than I expected, it does not feel cheap. The different attachments click on easily and give a little sense of satisfaction once they effortlessly fit into place. The main attachment is not as high quality as a shark one, but considering that the head alone for a shark costs nearly as much as this whole hoover, that is perfectly acceptable to me. It's extremely lightweight and looks smart hanging from the holder provided. The holder was simple to install, with all screws and plugs provided, and it has slots to hold the attachments too. It's a nice touch from the manufacturer for providing a spare filter. Charging it is simple, just plug the generously long lead into the battery, and leave it. I also love how you can extend the main hose, depending on how tall you are.I feel bad for deducting a star, but in all honesty the reason for that is that this hoover is not the same build quality as higher brands. The light on the head is nowhere near as good as my previous, more expensive hoovers. It is however, extremely good value for money and I am more than happy with my purchase. In fact, aftef thinking about it, I'm not taking a star off for this. For the price, this is a 5* purchase. I'll be back in 6 months time to edit accordingly depending on the test of time.

Recently purchased the Smartvac 13 having read the detailed reviews.The unit is well designed, of superior build and easy to assemble.It also comes with extra attachments and a spare filter.A prime consideration for me is that it is also extremely lightweight, easy to carry up and downstairs and glides easily on carpet and hard floors. It has 3 suction modes; I have found the medium suction adequate which saves battery power. The dust collection bin is small but it is easy to empty and clean after each use.I bought this as a back-up vacuum mainly for hard floors, but feel I will use it on carpets as well. Have not had the unit long but so far am impressed.

Wasn't expecting much from this as got it on offer. But much to my surprise, The Wife loves it. Does exactly what it supposed to and sucks up really well. That's just the wife!! No seriously it's a great little affordable machine. Used it on the floors and taken it out to the car and it does its job. Its great value.
