CLEVER BEAR HD Mirror Cam Full HD 1080P 5 Inch Mirror with Rear View Camera Car Dash Cam Dual Lens Monitor Night Vision

I don't know how these things keep getting good reviews. I have bought 3 different ones and this one will be going back just like the others I have tried. Just like the others my unit has several issues and I think the software running them is very buggy. My unit randomly reboots while driving and one of the most annoying things is that if you have the G-sensor enabled it will start making a protected recording with the slightest bump, whether that be driving over a small pothole in the road or even just getting into the vehicle (as if the door closing is enough to trigger it) even though it is on the least sensitive setting. Also, all of them I have tried are heavy enough to constantly make the mirror move and need adjustment. This one is lighter than others but still causes the mirror to drop while driving due to vibrations and bumps in the road, I have no issues with the mirror moving without a one of these DVR units attached. At least this one seems to keep the time set unlike 2 of the other ones I have tried, although I have only had it installed for about a week. I think I am done with these mirror units and will start looking for a dash unit even though I prefer the mirror location, it would be nice if they would sell more of them that actually replace your stock mirror instead of attaching to it.

Bought this to put in my work truck due to an incedent I had that turned in to a "he said, she said" type thing. For the price it's pretty good. The recordings are clear and the rear camera looks pretty good. The cable that came with it for the rear camera wasn't long enough for my application but I was able to use a piece of cat5 cable to extend it by making a splice in the cab and another splice in the rear. All in all this will definitely work to help me in the event of another incedent.

The instruction manual is lacking in detail. I had to figure on my own how to shut the image off the rear view mirror. Also Clever Bear doesn't respond to email.

Great product, camera quality is great for the price. Loop recording and motion detection is on point aswell.
