An absolute piece of art!..in the knife world...without spending a ton of money. I'm a knife snob. I've built my own, and I have an extensive collection. Nothing speaks to me like a beautiful knife. This one is well built, and had a great edge out of the box. I gave it a few strokes on the strop, and it's razor sharp. I consider it to be an excellent piece of work, at an extremely reasonable price!

I have used quite a few different kinds of knives, from Henckel to Shun to lesser-known German knives that we got for our wedding over 15 years ago as well as run-of-the-mill department store brands. In terms of how the knife feels, I would say that it has a very high quality feel. The wooden handle is nice, fits nicely in my hand, and has a good weight to it. As a point of reference I wear size XL gloves. The handle wood is symmetrical, so my left-handed wife and I can both use it without it feeling awkward. Proportion wise, the handle is a little bit larger than what I normally see on a paring knife. I LOVE this. It gives me a more secure feeling while handling it. Edge-wise, it came nice and sharp. I could shave hair on the back of my hand right out of the box. I did feel a little mislead about the "damascus" finish. The fine print in the listing does mention that it is not damascus but is rather laser etched. Seems like a bit of a misleading tactic, as other German-steel knives stand on the weight of their steel alone and do not need fake damascus lines. The biggest pending question for me is the steel quality, whether or not it's brittle, and how long it holds the edge. I use an end grain walnut cutting board so it shouldn't cause any issues with the blade, but only time will tell. I will update the review after a few months of usage.

I wanted a nice sharp paring knife that looks good to replace my German setup that has repeatedly broken at the tip. This feels much better in my hand and is easier to manipulate around fruits and vegetables. The edge came very sharp and I haven’t had to resharpen it yet after a few weeks of moderate use. Good price point and I recommend!
