Pockets and Elastic Waistband with Drawstring
These shorts fit as expected. I am 6'1" 175lbs and wear a 32" in the waist. I ordered a medium and they fit perfect. Shorts come to just above my knee. These shorts do NOT have Velcro, buttons, or string tie, in the front which I like. The waist is elastic and it comes with a drawstring that runs through the waistline that can be used to tighten them up if needed.I mainly bought these shorts because of all the pockets and the price. It has your normal front pockets (which are not very deep), a Velcro cargo pocket on each leg, and a Velcro rear pocket on the right. I go swimming very few times a year so I could not justify buying a more expensive pair, although some of the more expensive brands seem like they would be more comfortable since they are stretchy. Not saying that these are not comfortable. Also these shorts come with an inner liner that some have said can get uncomfortable. If I find that to be the case I will simply cut it out and wear some quick dry boxer briefs under them.So overall I gave these 5 stars because I like them better than any other inexpensive pair that I have bought due to the pockets and elastic waistband with drawstring.

Would buy again
Bought these for my 17yr old son he ways 123lbs very slim yet muscular and is 5'9. I ordered a small as he normal wears 29-30in waist pants. Fit perfectly with room to expand in the belly (after eating) They came to his knee (perfect length! The material is extremely made well, the navy blue color had stayed bright and hasn't faded with the chlorine or sun! I purchased him two board shorts one from another company his only complaint on the difference was the snug underware netting. His other board shorts from another company had (shorts style netting that didn't dig in the groin area) overall he loves them after cutting out the betting!I see more often people's reviews stating they received the product free for return of a honest review... I wish I knew how people do that... I paid full price (would do it again for this product as my son wears them a lot). But free stuff is always nice😉

Comfortable fit, but holds water
I wore these shorts almost every day around the pool in Mexico. They seemed like they ran a little bit large, but were very comfortable. The only problem I have with them is that the cargo pockets on each leg hold on to a lot of water when you get out of the pool and don't drain well. If you look at the picture you can see that the drain holes in the cargo pockets are not centered, but are set back on the pocket. When I would get out of the pool I would have to reach down and squeeze the water from the front of that pocket toward the drain holes. Even after drying off with a towel, the shorts still released water for a while. All that said, I like the shorts a lot in the look and for comfort. I will keep wearing them and maybe make a could holes in the front of the pockets to help with drainage.

They don't pinch his manly bits
These look really good on, like cargo shorts. There are plenty of pockets for all kinds of things (just don't forget to empty the pockets before going in the water!). My husband says these are super comfortable and he loves the tying waist. He also likes all of the pockets, and proved it by carrying his iPhone XS Max in one pocket, a bottle of water in another pocket, and then proceeded to collect seashells as we walked along the beach, putting them -- guess where? -- into the other pockets. These are board shorts so they're plenty long but don't look slouchy. He says the mesh is comfortable and don't pinch his manly bits. He likes them so much that I got him a second pair in black and grey .

Very impressed and yes, I would order again.
I haven't worn these in the water yet but if I need to update my post, I will do so in the next couple of weeks. They look really nice and I enjoy the american flags around on the pockets. Just adds a little extra something. I would say that these really run fairly true to size. Based on previous comments and the sizing chart, I ordered XXXL and even though they fit, they were a tad big. I sent those back and got the XXL which fits better but might also be a tad big. I'm 5'9 and weigh about 220 lbs. I normally wear a 38-40 jean size and XL in the short size. Hope this helps you make a decision.

From a Big guy
This review is for the 3xl sized pair. I will start by saying these are very nice looking and I wore these for most of my trip in Cancun on my honeymoon. If your are a bigger guy that is tall big more than short and big, these would be excellent but if you have ever put on a pair of shorts or pants and thought you were going to split the seam from the zipper in the front to the back when you spread your legs or sit........sadly these feel like that.Being a barrel hipped person anytime you spread your legs, take long steps, or sit you have to kind of self-wedgy these higher up into your more personalble zones to get more comfortable and I think anyone who dislikes the feeling gets what I mean.I did make it through the whole trip with these intact and actually found the pocket space to be the sole reason I wore these over other pairs as I could fit one of those waterproof passport holders into the pocket. *Side note* the right pocket has two "gromet" type holes you can run a key ring through and I used it to tether my waterproof wallet to that, inside the pocket. Kind of the equivelant to chaining your wallet to your belt.Ultimately a smart looking pair of shorts with great pocket space but if your looking for a roomy pair for a portly gentleman I would look elsewhere but if your 6ft something and not a double wide I think you would be more than happy with these.
