Surprisingly exceeded my expectations!! Got this tank light in Green color version. This beast runs on AAA battery and very handy when you travel and not bring extra charging cable. I use this on my night dives and even day dives which is every weekend. Easy to operate, just simply twist for turning it on. Twist for a steady light and twist again if you want a strobe. Tighten it after the dive to turn it off. It is easily seen and bright enough that my dive buddies see me a few feet away especially when I venture off and look for critters. Very simple and it performs as it was intended. This is a perfect little tank light for my diving. This will be a great gift for your dive buddy this Christmas. 100% a must have in your dive bag. SD01 Mini Glow Tank:  Overview: Most of my local dives in the cold depths of Puget Sound equate to night dives regardless of what time of day it is. After 60 feet or so the light starts to fade and the blackness begins to envelop you. I wanted a simple and effective way for my buddy to be able to see and track me in these dark conditions. I found the Orcatorch SD01 and thought it was a great concept and wanted to give it a try. So how did the SD01 do? In the case: It comes in a small zippered case with spare o-rings, a single aaa battery, a lanyard, a user manual, and a warranty card. Build and design: It’s built tough. The overall quality feels durable and solid in hand. The threading screws together with ease. It came with lubricated double o-rings that should help keep it watertight at depth. Depth Rated 150m IXP-8 Size: 77.5(Length)*19mm(Diameter) Net Weight:23.5g Power: It’s powered by a single AAA battery. Max Runtime: 108 hours Simple: The light is intuitive and easy to use. Simply twist on and off. From off, a one-quarter turn of the switch will activate the pulse setting. Attachment points: There is a single attachment point on the tail of the light. You can use the provided lanyard Finish: The finish shows little wear after multiple dives. Final Thoughts: Pros: •Bright and sustainable output. •Solid build quality •Good Size. Small enough to travel with. Very lightweight. •Twist On/Off for easy use. •Includes one aaa battery •Long 108-hour runtime allows for multiple dives before needing new batteries. •Adds safety to any dive •150m rated depth makes this usable to technical and recreational divers. •Good value Con’s: •A rechargeable 14500 battery would be more efficient and add very little size. It would make the battery rechargeable. •Strobe pulse speed is not controllable. It is faster than I would prefer. •Light is one color only. Multiple colors in a single unit would be a nice option. •A non-pulse, always-on glow stick-like option would be a nice feature.

Not bright enough for day dives. Also, it sinks so does not hover over tank and is not very visible mounted there. Maybe hang it below the BC?

OrchaTorch products and customer service are excellent. I have been using OrchaTorch products D550, ZD710 and the original SD01 dive beacon for several years spear fishing and night diving. The torches offer high quality construction with excellent battery life and hold up well under heavy use. The SD01 beacon has been great help keeping up with my dive buddy during night dives and battery life has been awesome. I recently purchased the upgraded SD01pro beacon in December 2025 for a liveaboard trip in January of 2026. During the first dive with the SD01 Pro light stopped working about 30 minutes into the dive. I discovered a small amount of moisture inside of the battery chamber and the lithium battery was discolored. I replaced the battery but it still wouldn’t work. I emailed OrchaTorch customer service to report the problem. OrchaTorch responded to the email in less than 4 hours and requested the Amazon seller information, a photo of the SD01 pro battery chamber and the order number. They contacted the Amazon seller and a replacement SD01pro was shipped to my house arriving less than 48 hours later. The customer service representative followed up with an email to ensure I received my replacement device and to see if I was satisfied with the replacement. Orchatorch has the best customer service and great products. This was the first OrchaTorch product issue that I have had with hundreds of hours of use. OrchaTorch customer service will keep me coming back for future purchases.

Multiple dives have been done with it, and it works really well. Good luminosity, good lifespan for the battery (low drainage), well constructed.
