Super stoked on how these turned out. We have a valued ceiling so it was importantly to me to have a gimbal that I could adjust to match the slope and aim the light straight down. We’ve had these installed for about a month. Install is the same as other retrofit style recessed lights. Beware that these will NOT fit directly under a joist like pancake style ones will. We have 8 of these in our living room and 4 in our kitchen. I also compared these to the Halo brand dim to warm light. Those cost 2x more per light. I have one of those installed over our kitchen sink. I think for that setting it’s nice to have the dim to warm there. But the wife really likes the halo night light effect. I do have to admit it ups the ambience level at night. We have the flat versions installed in another room. Having them hooked up to a dimmer is a must. The halo ring dims too. We plan to install these in a couple other rooms in the house later. I’ve installed non gimbal lights on a vaulted ceiling for a client, and they are ok, but I definitely prefer having the gimbal. Just know that the gimbal is not a 360* rotation like the halo brand. It rotates on one axis so you’ll need to physically rotate the entire light housing, not a big deal if you use a mini bubble level when aiming the gimbal. Make sure you push the insulation away from the top of these when installing. Even a little bit of pressure on top of the housing can cause the fixture to not fully seat against the ceiling. I had an issue with that on one light. Last thing to note… the halo ring night light will show imperfections in your ceiling such as cracks or places where patches were poorly performed. So keep that in mind when considering these vs the nightlight inside the can or dim to warm.

Great product with dimming ability and low light option

I really like these lights. I was able to retrofit my old recessed lighting circuits with these and they look great. I do like being able to change color temp but it does require reaching into the ceiling to do so. I do feel that the wiring boxes could be built better, they are flimsy and bend when pushing wiring into them.

These are good quality lights with all standard install options covered. If you are going to use the nighlight function of these you will see every ceiling defect! I looked at my celling after installing them and ended up skim coating and retexturing the entire ceiling! If I had known that I would have NOT bought the nighlight function.

I'm very interested in trying out the Night Light mode, in addition to the configurable warmth. The gimbal functionality is nicer to have than my current fixed-down recessed lighting. I do wish these were wifi enabled or exposed the warmth selection in a way that was easier to change.

They don't have a 110 degree spot as claimed. Do yourself a favour and buy lights with a lens and a 45 degree or less spotlight. These won't give you a feeling that you are at home. For office space they can work. Also the color temperature in the 2700k setting seems off. More like 4000k. Finally the night light is not as orange as I would have liked. Also it shines towards the ceiling so all the paint imperfections are now visible. So I had to return them and but one which meets all the specs I'm mentioning. I know that my bar is quite high, but if you like for everyone to be amazed when walking into your house, follow my recommendations above. You will thank me!

Good product, Works well on slope ceiling. But my only complaint is there too costly. If the price was lower , I would have bought a lot more. The light loss is not that significant in placing the lights into a slope ceiling as per angling the light in a plumb position. The cost factor is not worth the modification.
