4,500 miles kept up great!
I drove from Houston TX, to San Antonio, TX and then to Anchorage, AK, roughly 4,500 miles with this on top of my VW Jetta. Lost one hook immediately so i had 5 hooks and the 2 ratchet straps. Yes, gas mileage was cut in half, but I am hauling a car full of junk, that is expected. I may have put a bit heavier stuff than i should've, and there was a slight dent. There was no leakage. There was a shift about 1 foot from the front towards the back that it slid over those thousands of miles. None of my stuff got wet despite rain, sleet, and snow. I put in some heavy stuff and items with non-rounded corners and stuffed it to the point i had issues closing the zipper... but it held up great, no issues with any of my stuff other than one items froze from the cold and leaked some (not this bag's fault). Overall this was a great purchase! It allowed me to bring much more stuff than i would've fit in my car alone.

I recommend the product
Very good! It's the biggest size I expected and fits a lot of stuff. I used it in my car to carry my personal belongings like a suitcase of clothes, boxes of kitchen utensils like a blender, and dishes. It's very sturdy. I made a very long trip from Texas to Central Florida and it arrived in perfect condition.

Not weather proof or water proof!!!
Update!! Upon my travels it ripped at the seams!!! Everything is RUINED!!!! Destroyed everything I own!!! Somewhere along the way it got a ton of tiny holes. When I unzipped, water came pouring out!!! Destroying everything! Not water proof!! Nothing inside of my cargo could have punctured holes!!! I only transported soft bags of clothes!!! Nothing that could puncture this!!!

Held up well
Bought this to put on a 04 Toyota Sequoia for a move from Ohio to South Carolina. The fit was great, it's huge. It rained halfway through the trip, but this bag did well at highway speeds with rain. None of my items were wet up on arrival (and I left it loaded for our 1st few days IN THE RAIN) until we found a storage unit to rent.

Great bag but could be better...
Took on a 2,000 mile road trip through so much torrential rain downpours seriously!! the bag held up nicely, no leaks, totally dry inside :) just as advertised! All around great! Only cons I could list are these....unless you plan to fill the bag entirely (which I would assume would be too heavy for your car roof) then get something smaller - I filled mine with clothes, pillows, etc..... but still didn't fill it entirely enough to have it fully expanded - so with that said, aerodynamically it's like having a brick wall on top of your car as I drive a hybrid, my gas mileage was reduced to HALF - so my car normally gets around 44mpg, with this bag, I got around 17-20mpg 95% highway driving (the only savings I got was from natural city hybrid driving, which is normal regardless what you're carrying) - so keep that in mind!! I would imagine a hard-shell would be better in this regard. Only other issues are you will never get it back into the tiny bag it comes with lol or if you do, you won't be able to fit anything else.... plus all the dried bug juice, I'd imagine power wash should help? - and lastly, it's not very secure at all meaning, while it's secure on the roof (so long as you do it right just follow instructions/videos), it's not secure in the sense that someone can just as easily cut all the straps with scissors or a box cutter and take everything or just slice the side with a knife - we were fortunate enough to park overnight in a hotel that had a fenced-in parking lot :) - because of it being so big it's not easy to empty it again for security and refill it - other little issue is that you will need a step stool to be able to pack it and zipper it unless you are 7 feet tall - but all the cons I've listed is not major...... Summary: if you are traveling in a single shot no overnight, should be good security-wise, overnights would be iffy depending on locations, the size is so large that packing it to the brim would probably be overloading your car so check weight maximums - other than that, will probably use again for short non-highway trips because of the mpg drag - overall great bag especially for bulky items that would take up space - think pillows, comforters, clothes, soft light-weight things, maybe even an air mattress filled up to expand this bag could help?

Leaks horribly in the rain
The carrier itself seemed great because it was large and held all of our luggage and then some, and it was very easy to install but midway on our trip it began to rain profusely and everywhere that a strap was hooked, water started pouring into our vehicle. Everything was attached properly and that was not the issue. It was that it created such a big gap where it attached that it allowed the rainwater to come in. Needless to say it was a pretty rough trip after that.

Moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia. Sold everything I owned. All my personal stuff went in the cargo carrier. It's easy to load and super strong! Very high quality!

Just received this item today, reviews looked good, however, mine came ripped at the seam where the zipper and the top meet, rendering it completely useless. My trip is tomorrow and wont be able to use this. very disappointed!

Jai pris le plus grand, et jaurais peut être du prendre un peu plus petit car seul, c'est un peu plus compliqué a mettre sur le toit mais l’installation un très simple et facile. Le matériel a l’aire très solide et fiable.

Worked well for our camping trip. Packed mattresses, pillows, sleeping bags. The only issue was that the front was flapping up on the highway. Wish the straps were more towards the corners of the bag. We used an extra ratchet strap to hold the front of the bag down.

Fit perfectly on a Chrysler Montana, we were able to put luggage for 6 people, in the bag on the roof.
