Product Description The fourth season of the television series based on the Marvel comics character. When scientist David Banner (Bill Bixby) is accidentally exposed to toxic radiation, he finds himself turning into a giant green monster with almost limitless strength. Although he stays his mild-mannered self most of the time, whenever he's provoked his inner Hulk appears. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. Lou Ferrigno plays the fierce green alter ego. Episodes comprise: 'Prometheus (1)', 'Prometheus (2)', 'Free Fall', 'Dark Side', 'Deep Shock', 'Bring Me the Head of the Hulk', 'Fast Lane', 'Goodbye, Eddie Cain', 'King of the Beach', 'Wax Museum', 'East Winds', 'The First (1)', 'The First (2)', 'The Harder They Fall', 'Interview With the Hulk', 'Half Nelson', 'Danny' and 'Patterns'. .co.uk Review Not even the awesome power of The Incredible Hulk could prevent the 1980 Writers Guild strike from delaying the debut of its fourth season, or from reducing the number of episodes in the season from 23 to 18, but fans still found enough excitement and drama in the lonely adventures of Dr. David Banner (Bill Bixby) and his powerful, green-skinned alter ego (Lou Ferrigno). It's unfortunate that the fourth season wasn't allowed to air its complete run of episodes, since the ones that were broadcast were among the series' best. Season opener "Prometheus" finds Banner stuck in mid-transformation after encountering a meteor, while "The First" introduces him to another individual who has his own Hulk-like side. The fourth season also shows the program's writing and production staff continuing to deliver fresh takes on Banner's dilemma; in "Deep Shock," he develops the ability to see into the future after the Hulk is electrocuted in a power plant, while "The Harder They Fall" finds Banner forced to embrace his uncontrollable side as a means of curing his paralysis after an accident. Jack Colvin's Jack McGee also gets a fine showcase in "Interview with the Hulk," and Ferrigno is featured sans makeup and wig as an aspiring bodybuilder in "King of the Beach." Unfortunately, the truncated 4th season was also the beginning of the end for the show; cost-cutting measures put a halt to the fifth season after only 7 episodes, leaving fans wanting more of the quality adventures they saw in the fourth and final full season.--Paul Gaita

The most sci-fi season
The Incredible Hulk season 4 is definitely the most sci-fi/fantasy orientated season of the 5 seasons produced. If you generally didn't like the more grounded reality based tales of earlier seasons and want a bit more of a comic book, sci fi feel then this season is probably for you.The season 2 part opener "Prometheus" see's a strange meteor crash to earth near where banner and a young blind girl are living, Banner investigates and after exposure to the rock see's himself get trapped in mid metamorphosis half way between Banner and The Hulk ! With the Army and Mc Gee closing in can Banner escape and return to normal?Another good ep is "Dark Side" where banner's experiments with reversing the portion of the brain that controls aggression see's him take a schizophrenic turn into a dark alter ego and even a more dangerous dark Hulk !"The First" parts 1 and 2 deal with Banner discovering a man who used to be a Hulk but is now cured of the condition, when the man discovers Banners secret, he wants his old alter ego back and won't stop till he gets it !Other good ep's deal with Banner being exposed to an electric shock causing him to predict the future and "Interview with the hulk" where another reporter gazumps McGee and tracks down Banner for his story !Picture quality for the boxset is extremely good with a clear, sharp transfer framed in it's original broadcast ratio of 4.3Unfortunately there are no extra features.Great season and now at a great price !

Great stuff
Some lovely little gems of acting and scripting from the cast and crew here again, and it helps that the effects aren't overblown CGI stuff. Some of the stories on this dvd are amongst the best timewasting nonsense ever put out on TV.

Green giant on his penultimate mission!
This gets 5 stars because it's a timeless series 5 with lots of excitement and some good episodes, esp "King of the Beach", & "Prometheous"Delivered on time and packaged well.Recommend to all Hulk (original) fans as will bring back memories, esp from the days it was on TV and not repeated that regularly anymore!

For anyone who's a fun of this slightly dated looking 70's classic
For anyone who's a fun of this slightly dated looking 70's classic, this boxed set is hours of vintage David Banner fun. My 8 year old loved the episodes featuring Dell Fry - the "Baddie Hulk"!
