Perfect Replacement for broken my Heat&Glo Remote
Exact replacement for my broken Heat&Glo remote - the original remote had stopped powering on and the surface of the remote was degrading and sticky. This looks identical to the old remote, except it has DEXEN printed on the bottom instead of Heat&Glo. This remote does require programming - 1) Find the Access Control Module in the fireplace 2) set the switch to 'OFF' for 30 seconds 3) set the switch to 'REMOTE' 4) use a paperclip to push the hidden 'L' button until you hear 2 beeps 5) Press and hold red Power button on the remote control until the firepace beeps to confirm the remote is programmed. Functions exactly as my old remote did, and this replacement was a fraction of the price

Must pair with receiver
This unit is a perfect replacement for my HNG remote that stopped working due to battery leakage, my fault. Looks and feels exactly like the OEM remote, minus the logo, for a better price. This unit MUST be paired with the receiver in the fireplace in order to properly function, which I'm guessing is what some other reviewers were missing. On the receiver unit in your fireplace, just push a paper clip into the little hole beside the ON/OFF/REM switch, then press the power button on the remote. Simple as that and I have a functional fireplace again.

It Works!
The heat is on! Always hesitant to buy a generic version to replace a no-longer functioning original. This does the trick though at significant savings. Took a little you-tubing to get this to pair with my HeatnGlow fireplace and taking off fireplace access panels to reset the control model with a paper clip. But voila, normal service has resumed!

Functions just like OEM
Worked great as a replacement to the OEM remote. Pairing it to the appliance is simple if you can get access to the side panel.

Was not compatible with my old remote
They look identical but this RC300-HNG would not work as a replacement for my RC300 remote. Don't know why but I returned it. Wished it worked though. I asked if there was any programming needed but no reply came back.

Good delivery and works well. Remember it will need to be paired to your fireplace before working. Enter the model number into YouTube and it’s easy from then on
