UPDATE AFTER 4MO: After 4mo, this charger is garbage. Not sure what's happened, but it's been used in the same place for months but lately it's been charging SO slowly. I was just on a Zoom and it had the red charging on, and rather than charging up it discharged 12% during my 1hr meeting. I have a BRAND NEW Macbook, so it's not that. Switched to the charger that came with the computer and I'm already back up 15%. Definitely not worth it. It doesn't last. Better to just buy the real deal from Apple. I bought this magnetic cable to use with my MacBook, and overall it has worked well. I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the expensive OEM Apple cable. It looks good and performs great while it works. Unfortunately it worked fine for about a month and then intermittently. By this I mean while it is plugged in, it provides power for a few seconds, and then stops for a few seconds, repeatedly as long as it stays plugged in. I didn’t abuse it but to be sure, I bought another and had the exact same outcome. It worked great for several weeks, and then intermittently. A weird side note is that as long as I’m not thrashing the processor with demanding games or number crunching, it is still effectively keeping my computer charged. It seems to stay “on” enough of the time to keep the battery full. So after going into the settings and disabling the annoying beep each time it starts charging again, I’m still using it, expecting my wife to buy me a genuine Apple cable for Christmas.

I needed a new cable for a MacBook, and this one turned out to be perfect. It works exactly as described, solid connection, charges fast, and feels like good quality. Horrible charger, this might work in a pinch if you absolutely need a charger but compared to the Apple charger the magnets in this cable suck they barley hold on and the charger is not reversible like the Apple charger, it only works in one orientation. The indicator light is extremely weak and does not come to the surface as it shows in the ad as well as the ad days that this cable can charge up to 140w which my MacBook support I plugged this cable into the 140w Apple power brick and plugged that into my wattage meter and this cable is the limiting factor maxing out at 70w …..half of the advertised wattage. The cable is also much cheaper feeling in person than the images make it out to be. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU ARE IN DIRE NEED OF A CHARGING CABLE! Also as a side point the mag safe connector does not sit flush with the computer body and the charger does not charge if there is the slightest pressure on the port. This is a hunk of junk just more Amazon waste. All above is true but the seller has made it all ok
