Wurm, Celia Genishi: Books Review: Creating a Reggio Classroom - I ordered this book after discovering that the company that I work for was trying to implement a Reggio inspired approach. This book has been a wonderful resource for me. It has explained how Reggio works in the classroom, and has given me many ideas of how to implement small but effective changes in my own classroom. I recommend this book for anyone who is tired of the same old tired curriculum, who feels like they do the same tired stuff day in and day out, who feels like they don't enjoy their job any more. Reggio will help you connect with the children in your classroom on a whole new level, and this book will help you begin on your way to making that happen. Review: Great information - I’ve been wanting to incorporate more Reggio Emilia in my teaching and this book has key pieces of info that have helped immensely

Informative and thought provoking!
As an American educator, it is refreshing to learn about the way other teacher have found to help students grow. This book is practical and allows a teacher or parent to help shift their mindset through reflection and self evaluation of the true values they hold, allowing them the freedom to reexamine their practices and make adjustments.

Helpful
I like how the author describes her time in Reggio Emilia schools and then is able to suggest how that may fit in our American schools. It was exactly how she intended it: practical.

Artists and Educators I find this book a wonderful coherent tool
ASIN:B01ECNSJKS THE SPIRIT OF MATTER: A Database Handbook for Therapists, Artists and Educators I find this book a wonderful coherent tool. It is a bridge between the long and deep Italian tradition to our short one… Mentoring art teachers, art therapists and artists, I find the texts clear and thoughtful. I often use it. Nona Orbach

Very Helpful!
This is a great introduction to the Reggio Way through examples and anecdotes. It helps the reader to develop their own philosophy by asking questions that challenge our beliefs about education and the role of the child.

Written in a clear and anecdotal voice that goes straight to your heart and mind. I'm so very excited about all that I've read here. It gives insight into so much more than just teaching... it helps us define and redefine how we learn... together. Teachers, students & families are all part of the learning process and this book points out the way to develop that collaborative process. Get ready to think and reflect, as it starts with asking one to think about their values in regards to what a child is, what teacher is, what every action and physical aspect of the child's environment we built for them says about our values... As you go through the book you build your own understanding of the whole learning & teaching dynamic... it offers a mountain of ideas for creating amazing learning opportunities and where they come from, and can develop into. It teaches you how to observe and listen and why that can only make you a better educator. It ends with why and how to include families into your classrooms and schools... This has been an eye opener and an amazing read. I encourage and very highly recommend it to parents, teachers, educators, and managers alike.

Did I like this book? Well it was o.k but I don't think I would have bought it if I would have read it in a book shop. for me there wasn't enough about the children themselves, the projects they did photos..........

Great book! Reggio is not a program and defies our North American desire to compartmentalize but this book gives a good synopsis.
