Such an inspiring book. It truly fits the definition of “ where there is a will there is a way”, it is one of the best books That I have read which addresses the common problems in our society with a serious tone. Thank you Sudha Murthy for this wonderful book , forever grateful.

A very impressive collection of short stories ! ‘Ordinary people, Extraordinary lives’ – is what the tagline of the book says ! The book is nothing but, another beautiful bundle of 11 short stories by Sudha Murty. All stories have significant life lessons and great way to learn. I loved how simplistic her writing, which according to me, is a mark of an able storyteller. Hence, without any doubt, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book ! Her stories get connected with you on personal level while reading and that, probably, is the reason why the author is loved by Reader’s community. The book is very simple and light read, yet an intriguing one ! The language used in the book was super-easy so, I finished it in just 3 sittings ! Really ! Narration of the book is so smooth that making you finish it in just 2 or 3 sittings ! Also from each story, you’ll learn something special and new. I strongly recommend to those who are beginner in English and new reader ! Give it a try and read at once. You won’t regret it !

What Sudha Murty offers in 'Three Thousand Stitches' is a share of her experiences and outlook towards life in a simple and honest way. After reading this I have been deeply inspired by her commitment towards whatever she has chosen to do. She writes about her personal anecdotes with her family, teachers and friends who have touched her. This book is a descriptive narrative of personal experiences comprises of some beautiful chapters like “how to beat the boys”, “No Place like Home”, “Three handful of water” and many more. However, there is one chapter named “A Life Unwritten” which could have written in much better way as it looks more like a Bollywood movie plot (As author has also agreed at the end of the chapter). Book is full of Motivational content with a lot of useful information. This book also provided an insight into the working of an efficient charitable organization. Writing Style: The language is super easy and the narration is smooth making you finish this book in two to three sitting. I personally finished it in 3 sittings. My perception: Without any doubt, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The stories are so amazing, inspirational and impacting that you will find yourselves immersed in them. I can’t choose a single favorite story as all the stories are totally worth to read. From each story, you are going to learn something. Also, I strongly recommend to those who are beginner in English and new reader. Simple language, easy to understand and grasp. A very impressive collection of short stories! Sudha Murthy is such an inspiring woman. Her storytelling feels so personal—like listening to your own grandma or a close friend sharing real-life stories and the challenges she has faced. Each chapter is simple, powerful, and straight from the heart. There’s nothing boring here—just short, meaningful stories that you can read quickly but remember for a long time.

I liked the elegant but simple style, conveying the objective. Also liked the in depth researched information shared in the stories for the readers. Having detailed so much about AA’s mission and proceedings, author has not confirmed to the readers that whether Infosys foundation takes up or supports such projects. The assessment of projects and execution at foundation could have been included. I would recommend for all ages and more specifically for children. The thousand stitches story touched my heart and made me feel strongly that I should do something to help the society by actively participating through the work of foundation.

Loved the book

I enjoyed reading the book. I like authors thoughts and her writing process. Every story has a hidden moral that you realize n get a connected. But I was a little disappointed as the name of the book n story of devadasi was opener to the book. I was expecting that stories are all based on different devadasi’s there personal life and how they felt etc but what I was expected wasn’t there the subject jumped from place to place. Though I jumped but I did enjoyed the read

When I started reading this gem of a book, I couldn't stop, and shared many a paragraph of the writer's wisdom and lessons with my husband. It is such mind blowing and must read book by all. I recommend to those who want to achieve and lead a contented life. Reviewed by Umaiyal Nadarajah
