Perfect desk option for multiple input devices.
So for the last week, I’ve been searching for a 4-1 HDMI 4K compatible hub for my house office setup. I bought another one previously and it was not working the way I wanted. I couldn’t find one that was not auto switching (or at least anyone would answer the question in the product descriptions). THIS HOWEVER, is exactly what I was looking for. Very well made and easy to use. If you’re like me and have various devices that need to be plugged into, say a monitor, then this is what you need. It is perfect for when YOU want to control what device you’re using. Previous products with the auto switching, would randomly switch my Xbox X input to my MacBook Pro input whenever it detected any kind of activity on the MacBook. That was sooo annoying that the only way around it was to shut down my laptop every time I wanted to use the Xbox. Come on!! I’m so glad I spent the extra $8-$9 for this brand name Philips hub. Now I control the switching, reminds of my old school KVM switches but with a remote. If you want to control your HDMI options, get this you won’t be disappointed. Also, I’m not sure why but the video quality looks brighter and sharper with this hub compared to the off brand hubs I tried recently.

A Four Input HDMI Switch Box That Works!
I bought this Philips HDMI 4 in/1 out switch to replace a 5 input HDMI switch I had that was very sluggish and sometimes not change inputs at all when I selected them. This Philips unit is MUCH faster, usually taking only 1 - 2 seconds to make a positive change when so ordered. There is no quick way to power off this unit so I ordered a USB power cord with a rocker on-off switch so that I can manually turn it off when I'm done for the day. Another 'little' thing is that only 3 of the 4 HDMI inputs are on the back, (2,3 &4), with #1 on the front with the HDMI out to monitor on the back ~ not a big deal, but I would have preferred having the 4 inputs on the back and the output on the end. This unit is more costly than the majority of 4 input selector boxes, but it really works well and the remote, although small, is very 'positive' and works as it should. Of the 5 former HDMI switching units I've owned, this is the best one to date, but time will tell how good it truly is and I will update this review if things change. So far, I really like it and would highly recommend it.

great for multiple devices
We bought this device to replace a different brand we've had for a year or so. This makes it easy to switch from Blu Ray player, to AppleTV to satellite with a small 4 button remote. Unlike our last device, this one has a steady connection and doesn't randomly switch on you. I just wish it showed the numbers on the activity lights that match up with the remote, rather than just a red light. oh, and maybe add a magnet to the remote :)

So far so good
So far so good. I leave it plugged in (so "ON") 24/7 but play the game system attached maybe 2x a month. So far so good. I bought this because my no name China Aluminum one died after maybe 6 months. Of course it's never the housing that causes it to die but the internal components. This one was more than my China generic one so hopefully it lasts a lot longer. Its been maybe 4~5 months leaving it on and so far no house fire and the picture is clear while running my game system through it. Will update if it fails soon. It's the about the size of a smart phone in a case and as thick as a deck of cards. Bigger than my old generic one. You can't switch it off btw. So either it's plugged in and powered on (red LEDs illuminated) or its unplugged. Not a big deal since I think my old one was the same. CONS: -SLIGHT lag when selecting a different port. You will get a blank screen for a few second or two before it displays the new system. Switching isn't instant. -It doesn't detect what system is active and switch to it automatically. My old generic one would swith to the port that was powered up. This one will start always in slot 1 even if slot 3 system is running but slot 1 isn't. If you leave it plugged in it will just stay in the slot you last selected no matter if that system is off and a different system is on. If it lasts for a few years I don't mind that con. My OLD manual switch for the old style red, yellow, white cords (think VHS, or N64) lasted many years. It was the sane brand so hopefully this newer version still maintains quality. Time will tell.

Works with Mac Mini M2
This Philips HDMI switch allows me to switch between a streaming device, blu-ray player, and a Mac Mini M2 on my Sony Bravia TV set. Thankfully this switch does have HDCP passthrough so that the Mac Mini thinks it's connected directly to the TV set. The remote is small and wafer-thin, so it feels kind of "meh", but as long as it works okay I guess I can't really complain. The power cord is plenty long enough to reach from my tv stand to the outlet on the adjoining wall. If you don't want to use the remote, there is also a button on top of the HDMI switch that allows you to cycle through the four different inputs.

Philips HDMI switch lives up to its reputation
I bought this product based on reviews that it is best. The Philips HDMI switch lives up to its reputation and works perfectly and deserves 5 stars all day long! It's super easy to install and the remote also works very well.

No even worth the small price
My old sound system had the HDMI switch built into it, so when it died after many years, I just bought this switch, figured no fuss, no mus. The setup was easy and fast, and it even worked for almost a day. From the start, the switch kept disconnecting from the TV for a few seconds each time every few minutes. So, I tested each device by plugging it into the TV directly, and each worked great. A day or so later, nothing would work through the switch for more than an hour. However, everything works when directly connected to the TV without any issues or limits. Don't waste your money.
