I was hoping to find a fabric softener that didn't require huge jugs and without costing an arm and a leg. I had hoped this might be a viable answer. It was a total failure. The product came in a nice small cardboard box with little sachets of powdered softener in it. I was anxious to try it out and I am 100% disappointed. The outer pack dissolved well, but the powder in it only partially dissolved. Moreover it didn't soften or remove the static and it provided no scent whatsoever. This was supposed to have a fresh scent, and it does when you smell the actual sachet, but it did not smell while in use and the clothes have no scent after having been washed. I even tried dissolving one in a small bucket of hot water and it still failed to dissolve and the water didn't seem to feel like it should. 100% total failure on all counts. I will be returning it.

I bought the Clean and Crisp soap and the softener pods to try on my laundry. The soap pods are amazing and yes my laundry did come out soft. The downside is that the tiny pills (ball-like powder) within the softener pods do not fully dissolve in warm water. These pills tend to stick to the clothes, creating fabric pilling that makes the clothing appear worn and rough. When the clothes go through the drying cycle, the most or all of the pills get removed. Unfortunately, some are in the dryer, quite a few in the lint screen, with the remainder falling off when pulling the clothes from the dryer. I'm not sure if this occurs with only the warm water setting, or if this occurs with all water temperature settings.

I love the idea of powdered laundry products -- better for the environment and frequently a better buy for the money. So, I was excited to see fabric softener pods. I tried them at first according to the instructions, with cold water and extra rinse, but the load of towels came out feeling sticky and gross instead of soft. Tried a few more times with worsening results. Ran the towels through with some vinegar to remove built up softener, then again with a pod, and same results. So I pushed these pods to the side as a wasted product. Some days later, I was washing my towels on hot and threw one of these in just to test. Low and behold, what came out was slightly softer than expected and not "sticky and gross". Tried a couple more times and yes, the pods perform better in hot water then cold. BUT they still fall way short of the performance you get from regular fabric softeners like free and gentle Downy. I just really can't recommend this product. It's possible it's the water quality here in Florida, but I'm not going to give these another try.

I was looking around for fabric softener solutions for my apartment in-unit washer. It doesn't have a fabric softener dispenser so I was trying to use the ball that you can fill with fabric softener that supposedly would release it at the right time, but that never seemed to work for me. The softener would always end up staining the clothes or just leave residue on them. I saw this and thought I would try it, half expecting it to not do what I needed but it was the opposite. The softener leaves the clothes feeling soft and breathable but there is no residue. Definitely a purchase I will be making again.
