ASICS GT-1000 5 Men's Running Shoes

Used Asics years many years and always found them to be good.This model appears slightly tighter than my previous ones but that is likely to be down to being new.Foot gait control is good and the cushioning reminds you that they should have been changed earlier so very comfortable on impact.If only the years could wind back to get full use of them.If i am lucky and need another pair it will be the update version of these.Recommended.Arrived quickly and well packaged.

Fit really well (I have broad feet) and feel very comfortable even at the first wear. I can start running right away unlike with other shoes that I need them to soften first.

On first impression I thought that the shoes looked neat and having tried them on found them to be a decent fit (9.5), although a bit close lengthwise. The laces are a bright orange and the shoe is deep blue so if you don't like too much colour ... As this is the first time I have attempted to do any distance running I can't compare them to anything else. After two twenty-five minute sessions through a local park. along trails, the shoes are fine but my left calf muscle is a bit sore :) Possibly this is due to old injuries from playing football more than anything else. The shoes are light and well built and I would be disappointed if they didn't last for a while. They cost £70 supplemented with a £40 gift voucher so am very pleased to have this item for £30, especially as I saw them in John Lewis for £100. In summary, would recommend.

I looked at all the reviews, and was initially hesitant about buying these. I took a chance because of the great price, and was not disappointed. I was a long time Asics 2170 wearer, having bought a few pairs to see me through a few years. When I came to replace them, they were no longer available, and many of the Asics alternatives were just too pricey to justify. I bought some Brooks Adrenalyns, which are also good, but I have to say I prefer these. These fit the bill for my running style and frequency, on paper, so I bought them. They are great. They are exceptionally comfortable, and very light. They fit like slippers straight out of the box. I have done a number of runs in them, and they have been great from day one. Very pleased, and I will probably buy another pair as a reserve.

A very decent trainer for running and general fitness. However found the size to be larger than expected. Bought a size 10 and feels like a 11..

These are my favourite brand and style of trainers. So these were a replacement. They are very stylish in really smart modern colours. More importantly, they are great all round trainers. I will keep with ASICS for a long time to come. These are the perfect mid price trainers.

Initially the shoes seem to fit well and of good quality. However, after about 2miles i noticed that the shoes were pinching the insides of my feet, causing discomfort. I decided to walk them in for a couple of days before doing a longer run. I went for a 6 mile run and the side supports caused blisters and bleeding on the same spots on my feet. Unless these shoes were a faulty pair, they are not fit for purpose and can definately not be used for running see photos) I am a bit dissapointed as Asics has always been a reliable brand. I would still recommend Asics for running, however, I would advise to stay away from the gt series shoe.

I run marathons (slowly) and for years I have used Asics Kayanos (various numbers) but they are pricey. My toes punch holes in the tops (I do this to all shoes) and I need a new pair every 6 months or so due to this and the miles I run in training. I thought that I would try these for some of the miles between races to attempt to reduce some of the cost and swap to Kayanos a few weeks before each race. I don't know how well my plan will work, but so far the miles in these shoes have been very comfortable. I understand very little of the gobbledygook that the manufacturers push out when they describe a shoe but it is cushioned with gel and comfortable.
