I but it for my lenovo laptop g570(i5 2nd gen with 8 gb ddr3 ram) and when i installed my new seagate 1 TB (1A and 5 volts) hdd into caddy then it is not detected anywhere neither in bios, nor in disk management nor in my computer but when i installed 500GB old lenovo hdd(0.451A and 5 volts) then it is detected everywhere and also offers good speed.Also caddy contains 3 buttons inside and i tried all but 1 TB hdd is not detected.

I brought this for my sony vaio fit svf14212snw laptop. For one thing, check the size of the caddy which you require, ie weather it is 9.5 mm or 12.7 mm. You can search it up for your laptop by either googling it up, or just take out the optical drive you currently have (you have to do it anyway to install the caddy when it arrives) and use a ruler to measure it's thickness.Unlike other reviewers told, it came with all screws intact. It was a new product, and the build quality was good. For installing instructions, watch a youtube video and that's all. Also you should attach the face plate of the removed optical drive to the caddy as demonstrated in many videos like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21PmIDbz_go Just keep watching videos until you get a one that works for you.One little downside is that you won't be getting SATA 3, but only SATA 2.6, which will give you a speed of 3Gbps. This is not a problem with this product, but a general feature of optical bays. I can leave with it. If you plan to put in an SSD in the caddy though, it would be disappointing.

Perfectly fits in my Dell XPS L520X. but you need to update driver for accessing the HDD. After installation of this I installed IOBit DriverBooster and it detected and installed the driver for this. But smooth installation and and good quality. One important aspect is that the DVD Drive outer cover also fits well (with little bit retrofit). See attached photo.

I am writing this review after installing in my ASUS ROG G51J in the place of existing Blu-ray disc.1. Product has come with decent packing. Quicker delivery than committed.2. Product is ok, may not be of high standard. Value for money.3. Quick and easy installation, but for the bezel of Blu-ray drive. Somehow installed the bezel in the caddy. Not that satisfied. Fitment holes are not proper.4. Installed spare HDD in the caddy. Screws and scree driver supplied are very handy and good.5. HDD detected smoothly in win 10 system and working fine.Overall recommended. Value for money.

I ordered this to put my laptop HDD into, after upgrading the laptop to SSD. The construction quality was OK, & it came with the required screws and a screwdriver. The holes at the back were of the standard size, and the attachment bracket from the DVD writer could be attached without problems. The front panel from the DVD drive could also be attached to this without problems - all slots, screw holes were standard. The drive fitted well into the caddy, and the SATA & power connectors fitted correctly. The provided screws fitted into the sides of the HDD. Ensure that the screws go in fully, or else this caddy will not slide into the slot. Once it is slid into the slot, attach the screw at the bottom of the laptop & you are done. The drive showed up on reboot.Item is recommended.

Perfect fit for 15R N5010 Inspiron. Though the seal was broken but product was in perfect condition. Done with installtion, its working efficiently.
