Excellent product - also helped me understand the difference between jaggery and brown sugar
When I placed order for this product, I was only trying to get hold of a key ingredient needed to make Subway-style oatmeal-raisin cookies (my favourite). I barely knew the real difference between brown sugar and powdered jaggery except that they looked different. Then I googled to understand what makes them different. Writing it down here in case anyone interested. BROWN SUGAR — It is industrially produced by mixing molasses (concentrated cane juice syrup) with refined crystallised sugar (sucrose) at a certain ratio. Dark brown sugar has more molasses than light brown sugar. JAGGERY — It is produced by boiling down molasses and setting the mixture in moulds. Upon cooling, it solidifies. Crucial difference is that sugar (sucrose) is NOT crystallised and stays “embedded” in the mixture. This means there is no industrial refining and centrifugal crystallisation involved in the production of jaggery. Jaggery and brown sugar can SOMETIMES be interchangeable in cooking, but not really in baking. You need to adjust recipes a lot to make sure you don’t mess up if you want to start using jaggery instead of brown sugar. The difference in production does alter the flavour of jaggery when compared to brown sugar although it all comes from sugarcane. In case anyone looking for good quality powdered jaggery - Vayam brand one is amazing.

I love the Flavour of this and I never wanna Talk about as it has No comparison to any one in the Indian market .. Sad to know that No Indian Brands ain’t doin such Kinda Soft brow sugar (Light and Dark) so For My Baking I always prefer this and Sadly it ain’t available anywhere in my city which used to be available and This ain’t value for money but No choice but to buy for occasional usage ..

Not worth it.
Its an okay product and I'm a regular user of demerara sugar. I had to buy this because my regular brand was not available. Smells a lot of molasses. So much that its changing the flavour of my tea and coffee. Wouldn't buy again.

Good quality sugar. But seller can cheat you!
I was shocked to receive this. Have been purchasing this brown sugar as it has amazing texture and good flavour too.. and this was the third time I ordered this brown sugar and received this jaggery like substance! Highly disappointed.

Absolutely go for it. Best one.
No doubt, this is the best one for Indian market. I made apple pies, custards and tarts using Tate & Lyle dark soft brown sugar. All of them turned out to be delicious (not bragging though). The sugar is an authentic one, unline other Indian brands and gives a rich yet subtle sweetness to your desserts.

Quality product
Use this a alternative to your daily sugar consumption, initially it might taste something different, however if you need to switch to healthy life style these are the little things one should be able to adopt. Over all good product worth buying.

Would buy it again
I have bought a lot of different brands of brown sugar and this is by far one of best ones. It has the right texture and flavour notes for a brown sugar. But it does give a slight bitter taste to cookies when added.

Best for brownies and gooey cakes.
Used it to make brownies and they turned out really good. Dark brown sugar has more molasses and hence denser flavours. Don't use dark brown sugar for toffee or caramel tones though.
