Great quality, Exceptional Rear view.
I drive a Mazda CX5. I did not notice at first, but, because of the head rests in the back seats, I have very limited field of view from the factory rearview mirror. This became very noticeable a few weeks ago when I broke my driver's side mirror. I suddenly realized, without that mirror, I have a huge blind spot on the left side of the car. To remedy this, I began looking at rear camera systems. I was immediately drawn to the Audio Vox V2 because of the way the entire mirror is used as a rear view cam. It is stunning. Now my car literally has no blind spot what so ever. As cars pass on either side, I pick them up in my side mirrors while they are still visible on the rear cam. It is remarkable and worth the price just for that. Both front and rear cameras are very clear and sharp. Lighting can be quickly adjusted by swiping the screen either right or left. The controls are straight forward, but a bit basic. I like bells and whistles and the unit could benefit from some added playback features, but that is a minor issue. I like the Lane Departure Warning System. It works flawlessly whenever I switch lanes. though I will probably use it only for highway driving and keep it off in the city. The Drive Mode is a nice feature. With the camera display turned off the unit functions as a standard analog mirror that displays speed and direction information. I am very satisfied with the quality and functionality of the unit and recommend it to prospective buyers. But I save the best for last. For some reason, the cigarette charging cable stopped working. Not sure what was happening I contacted Customer Service. They at first helped me trouble shoot the problem, but when we narrowed it down to the cable they immediately sent out a new cable and charger. Purchasing a quality piece of technology is one thing, but having confidence in the company and their customer support makes for a top quality purchase all around. You can buy the Audio Vox V1/V2 with confidence that you are getting value for your money.

Using this to help with big blind spots due to large c-pillars. Dashcam functionality was a bonus.
Using this to help with big blind spots due to large c-pillars. Installation required removal of many lining bits in the trunk and drilling one hole. Overall, not too difficult but take patience to invisibly route camera, power and GPS cables. I won't do a rehash of what other owners have already written, but here are a few points that are good to know.- LCD display is semi-transparent mirror. It is intended to be used as LCD display or physical mirror. When used as a physical mirror, the reflected image is about 50% that of a regular mirror. I do NOT have any vibration problems, probably because my OEM mirror is a thick one and gives the elastic bands plenty to hug. When used as an LCD display, the physical reflection will badly wash out the LCD image. Because I am using this as a full-time rearview mirror, I simply angle the X2 downward. The physical reflection is a view of my rear seats, rather than out the rear window. If I want to use as physical mirror, one simply tilts the X2 up. I only need to use it as a physical mirror when sunlight is directly hitting my back seat.- Rear camera view covers my blind spots well. Cars don't leave the camera view until the front of the care is visible beside my car in my peripheral vision. Makes it a LOT easier to verify next lane is clear before changing lanes. The rear camera video looks quite good on the X2 display but is very aggressively edge enhanced. You notice that as edge ringing and detail obscuring noise when rear camera video is played back on your computer display rather than the X2 display. The rear camera's video is 1280 x 720 resolution during playback.- Rear camera video is 25 FPS. There will be visible motion jitter on the X2 display. Takes just a bit and you learn to ignore it.- Parking lines of rearview camera are not very useful because you can't adjust their position to match your vehicles mounting height and angle.- Front camera will pick up up a LOT of interior reflected off the windshield. This can be DRAMATICALLY improved by adding a circular polarizing filter. I fashioned a DIY one from a black bottle cap and piece of polarizer from a Real3D theater glasses. Huge improvement for free. I'd say a circular polarizer is a must have for this dashcam. Either make one or buy one.- Hardwire kit for power is worth getting. Just be sure to get the right one for your vehicle's size fuses (ATO vs Mini)- The hardwire kit's mini-USB connection is a straight connector rather than right angle. Depending on your mirror mount, that may mean the plug will jut too far up to fully clear mirror mount when you have the mirror in use position. A right angle, mini-USB adapter is a good idea if you are going to use the hard wire power kit.- Although the front camera is on a gimbal, it may not point far enough leftward once you have the X2 angled for use. This will be more of an issue if you sit relative forward and must angle the X2 more rightward to get correct mirror angle. Without sufficient leftward gimbal range, center of forward camera will point too far right. I had to modify the camera mount to add another 15 degrees leftward angle. Cautious melting and bending of the housing support was performed to get things just right. As a result, mine won't slide the camera in or out any more, but more importantly it has the correct left/right aim angle. Yep, nichrome wire and an adjustable power supply lets you do crazy things with plastic.- Lane Departure Warning System works for me on the highway. I would not DEPEND on it, but it might save the day if one nodded off and drifted out of lane. I score it as a bonus feature.- Clock lacks DST vs SDT ability. You have to change time zone manually to adjust for daylight saving time.- The rearview camera display does not include speed display, but it does show heading and time.- If your stock mirror housing is light colored, the X2's black mounting bands and casing stick out like a sore thumb. They draw attention to the X2. My solution was to painting my stock mirror body and mount jet black. No longer do highly visible black bands against a bright background invite a car break-in. With the mirror body painted black, my X2 install became nicely camouflaged.UPDATE: AutoVox customer service directly answered about two details that may be confusing.1. The rear camera sensor is a 720P sensor. That is why the rear camera recording is 1280 x 720. It is NOT a 960P sensor!2. Parking Mode requires always-on power to be supplied to be used. The built-in battery doe NOT power Parking Mode. One must manually switch in and out of parking mode. The device does NOT switch it automatically because power is always on.

Love it!
Thank you for such a great product. My Auto-Vox arrived perfectly and in good time. It was easy to install and works like a charm. It does exactly what is described/written. Brilliant and crystal clear view. I have not experienced any hiccups to-date. I would definitely recommend this product. Thank you :)

High resolution easy to install.
Great product and very good quality screen and camera. Only complaint would be it would be nice if there weren’t three seperate cables connecting to the unit as it looks a bit messy. But it’s not a deal breaker. Also not clear if this unit has any form of battery protection circuit to make sure it doesn’t drain the cars battery when in standby, so just be careful where you wire it up in your car.

An A+ Quality Dash Cam
I love the Auto-Vox Dash Cam. The picture is really high quality. I bought it because of the blind spots, I have yet to try out the reversing lines but its not hooked up yet. The Youtube video describes everything you need to know. The Lane Departure makes a sound when you cross a line like it says. I am pretty much very pleased with this purchase and would buy again unless something better comes out.

Poor Quality
The camera quality is really poor, especially the rear one. I does not feel this product worth that cost.
