Gellen Crystal Base and Top Coat, 18ml Anti-scratch Nail Polish, Soak Off UV Light Cured Gel Top Coat, Salon Gel Polish

A few weeks ago, I decided to start doing my own nails at home. Rather than pay someone $80 to ignore my concerns about the nails being too square, too lumpy and thick, or too sloppy - I decided to just put the time into doing it at home. Invest in some equipment and do it.Acrylics are hard to get right.Dips are messy and hard to get consistently across the nail.Press-on's are just good for a day or so.Poly-whatever is goopy and I ended up with funny looking nails, lol.I refused to give up, though.So, when I saw this rubber 3-in-1, I thought it was worth a shot.I prefer short french tips with clear base. Nothing wild or spectacular here.I got short tips that glue on the tips of my nails. By short, I mean a quarter inch thick.I glued them on, then applied one thin coat of the product.I applied to one nail, then set it under a UV lamp for about 30 seconds. It got hot on the nail as the product cured, but only once did it feel really uncomfortable. But it faded soon enough.It was time consuming, but after one round where I did them all at once and then tried to cure all at once, the product had slid a bit to the side and created a bulge on the sides of the nails.So, I removed the product and tried again, one at a time. That did it.I applied three thin coats, curing between each coat (obviouisly.)I was pleased that I didn't have to really do any additional shaping because the product just sort of settles into a natural shape. My nails looks like I gave myself a french manicure - but not that I have tips on them or that I used anything other than white nail polish on the tips and a clear base coat and top coat on the rest of the nails.It looks very natural. Just the way I like it.I also like that the few places where a little extra made it to the cuticles, it was easy to remove without aggravating the cuticles. I did dishes by hand and saw the extra product sort of lifting off my cuticles and skin. But the nails themselves remained VERY secure. In fact, it's been a week and I haven't had a single nail lift.The fact I am not seeing lifting at the bottom of the nail, like you often see with acrylic, is refreshing.If I start to see lifting, I compulsively start working it.So far, this product has not provided me with any opportunity to pick at anything lifting, which is - of course, ideal.I also liked how, after I did the nails, my cuticles and fingertips didn't feel burny and itchy. I hate that itchy feeling you get right out of the salon. It makes me go home and plunge my nails into a sink of soapy cool water, hoping to get rid of it.I also like how little was used to get what I wanted.The bottle is pretty decent size, especially for the price of $5 and change.I am pretty happy with the fact I am not having to use multiple products on my nails. Glue my tips on, then apply a few coats of this and I'm done. All good for weeks.And, yes, I do wash dishes by hand every darn day. I have a dishwasher but some things are too big for that or it's full and there's still dishes needing washing. I also swim in a chlorine pool three - four times a week, for no less than an hour.With all that time my hands spend in water, it's why my manicures tend to only last a few weeks, if even that.This product doesn't seem to be phased by water at all. No sign water is getting under it, no sign they are weakening and no sign they are fading.I am pretty happy I found this and will likely continue to buy this.After all these years, I finally found a product that makes my artifical nail tips and nails - look real.

Both work really well

I really enjoy the sheen of the top coat. Haven’t had this problem before, I wonder if it is the product or my application - the polish has been chipping off in one piece on my natural nails after a few days. On gel x extensions, it has held up fine.

I love this top and base polish and I have had many different brands, this is my second time purchasing this and will keep doing so. It is not only a great price for an amazing product, but I use it without color gel polish and it have helped me to grow them out a lot. I’m very rough on my hands and it’s easy for me to break them if I don’t use gel. You do not need to wipe anything after using it like many other brands.
