Fast and furious motor action.
The media could not be loaded. This is my first radio controlled drift car so I wasn’t sure what to expect and have nothing to compare it with. My only experience of drift racing has been through computer games like Dirt 5 and a few other flat screen racing games. Not the same thing! There’s everything you need in the box to get going except a three AAA batteries for the remote. There are two rechargeable battery packs included which are charged up through a short USB cable which flash red and green as the battery is charged. Also included, is a mini screwdriver to easily remove the flaps/panels to install the batteries. However, I found this quite fiddly and it didn’t take long for me to lose the car’s battery compartment screw and then the screw on the controller soon became difficult to remove. As you change the car battery quite often I feel a simpler method could have been used. There are some small plastic ‘traffic’ cones in the pack along with some fat tyres to change for different situations. The car shell is extremely lightweight and the livery is an eye-catching red and black colour scheme. When you turn the car on there’s some funky lights including bright LED headlights. The controller is very light. There’s a throttle for backwards and forwards movement and a large wheel to turn the car wheels left and right. The controls are quite sensitive and need a light touch. A bit of practice is required to get the car to move as you want. The range is quite good. The speed is great and the response of transmission means there’s plenty of scope to play around to do donuts or make a sweeping curve.Fun for all ages. Apart from the fiddly battery arrangement, recommended.

Not a good car
Rubbish! Controller and car wouldn’t connect to each other all the time so car would not respond

Great fun for all ages including adult kids!
The media could not be loaded. This 1/14scale iBlivers RC Drift car is effectively the big brother to the 1/24 scale version from iBlivers which I also have. Everything is pretty much the same, just bigger. The size and speed of this 1/24 version mean that its best suited to larger spaces indoors or out, where it works on pretty much any surface, rough or smooth. You get everything you need including two battery packs, meaning one can be charging whilst the other is in use, two sets of wheels/tyres (one set slick, one set with tread) and some mini cones that you can drive around. All you need to provide is three (not two as stated in the description) AA batteries for the controller.Unlike the smaller version, this car comes with all of the artwork/decoration already on it, so you don’t have to mess around applying stickers/transfers. The attractive red and black spiderman bodywork is further enhanced by the fact that the car’s body is translucent, so that lights inside the car light it up. The lightweight bodywork can be unclipped and lifted off, possibly because the manufacturers are considering offering replacements and/or alternative designs? To add to the overall effect and look of the car there bright LED headlights that are on all the time that the car is powered up.The trigger throttle and side steering wheel are nice and responsive and make it easy to regulate the power going to the car. This is useful because the top speed of the car is pretty fast so it is nice to be able to start at lower speeds until you become more accustomed to the controls and handling of the car. There is just one thing to watch out for:The USB A connector on the charging lead is a really tight fit, so you may wish to avoid plugging into a PC, laptop or similar to charge, in case it damages the socket. This car is great fun to play with and is likely to appeal to kids of all ages. Currently selling at just under twenty-four pounds I think it’s great value too.

Great fun with some stylish drifting .... and no one gets hurt
This is a rather smart little car, being about 260mm long, 120mm wide and stands at 70mm at its tallest point, which is the roof. At the rear of the vehicle there’s the spoiler, which is just for show as it doesn’t add to the performance of the car.Turn the car over and there’s the battery compartment, and the fine tuning lever at the front axil. The cover of the battery compartment needs unscrewing, using the screwdriver which comes in the box.You get 2 x 500mAh 7.5v Li-Ion rechargeable batteries, giving you 40 minutes run time (20 minutes per battery) There’s also two sets of tyres, smooth and rubber, which are changed by unscrewing the screws on the centre of the wheels, take off the old wheel and replace with the new. Then tighten the screws to secure the new wheels in place. The charging cable is short but does what it’s supposed to do, charging the batteries in an hour or so. Just slide the connectors on the battery and charging lead and plug the USB-A into a USB-A port. A little light shows you how the charging is doing. The 2Ghz remote control is as simple as they come. An on and off switch on the top. A trigger control which, pull back the trigger to go forward, push the trigger forward to go backwards. With the wheel in the centre of the remote controlling the direction of the vehicle. This remote works with 3 x AA batteries, which don’t come in the box.The motor is quiet and powerful enough to get some speed and drifting and the four wheel drive design helps in getting this across the ground, like wooden flooring or carpets. Capable of quick turns and doughnuts. The body is a lightweight, thin plastic yet is remarkably strong and can take a few heavy knocks, bumps and crashes. With the body bouncing back into shape. There’s a couple of lights on the front bumper which add to the look of this car, as well as the spider web design on the bodywork. There’s also 4 small orange cones to drive this car around as it drifts across the floor. In all, a fine little remote control car which should bring lots of fun for the right person. The remote control is easy enough to get the hang of and you’ll soon be drifting this around the floor.
