I guess it seems obvious but what does one day movement mean?

It means you wind it every day. Look for Sternreiter model #8200 for the 8-day version, which you wind once per week.

Looking for a bird that just cuckoos without any other additional sounds ( No echoes, no water fall) Can you please help me?

Battery cuckoos have the other birds and waterfall. This one has the mechanically produced gong and cuckoo, so this is probably the one you want. The little gong is traditional, but it can he easily silenced to just let the cuckoo call.

You have to open the back and remove two clips on the bellows so they can open. You have to put on the top piece -- the part with the bird. It has two clips and simply pushes onto the roof of the cottage. *After*hanging*the*clock*on*the*wall* open the paper sack the chains are in and let them hang down, being careful they don't tangle. Remove a wire threaded through the chains just at the bottom of the clock. They kept the chains from falling off of their sprockets when the clock was shipped on its back. Hang the pendulum from the 'perch' -- the wire eye just behind where the chains emerge from the bottom. Finally, hang the weights on the chains and give the pendulum a nudge.
