Rugged Multiport Serial Adapter with Win 7 drivers
Great adapter, very rugged, saves USB ports on your machine. Only oddity is that the Windows 7 64-bit driver numbers the ports a little weirdly. On my machine, the ports are COM20 through COM27. The correspondence between COM and unit labelling is: COM20 is 2, COM21 is 1, COM22 is 4, COM23 is 3, etc. I have used up to six of the eight ports and have had no reliability issues or disconnects for hours at a time. Drives 50 foot serial cables with no problems. I do use an external power supply most of the time, but don't think I really need it.

Worked Perfectly for me!
Used it as console ports for multiple Cisco devices. Worked exactly as I needed it to. Ended up buying three of them. Now I can remote into a Windows 2012 server and connect to 24 different Cisco Console ports.

Used this to connect to 8 RS-232 devices. It works well but the mapping is odd
I used this to successfully connect 8 RS-232 temperature controllers to a single USB port. I am reading at .5 second intervals and it works well. The weird thing is that the port mapping was not sequential to the port numbering on the box. It was a hit and miss thing. I had to start up polling on a single port and move the device connection to the different ports to find which one was active. And for some reason, it even skipped over to unused port numbers. So, I had ports 1 - 6 mapped to Com 8 - Com 13 and then 7 and 8 mapped to Com 15 and 16. Com 1 - 6 did not map to 8 and 13 in that order either. port 1 was connected to com 10 and some random order. I did order a second one for another system so it should show you that the mapping was not a primary concern and once I figured it out, it should never have to be redone. I unplugged and replugged several times and the port mapping remained in tack.

Poor driver implementation
We used this port for a few weeks, but had serious issues with the driver and ultimately replaced with a better port. The com addresses are arbitrarily assigned which makes it difficult to set up. We also randomly lost ports that would not communicate with our control software. I would recommend that you purchase a more reliable unit from another vendor.

Excellent multi serial port device
Had a bit of trouble matching COM ports to physical ports. After the first device the remaining devices worked great!

Five Stars
Works great for serial/ip interfacing. Just as good as comtrol/digi so far.

Rugged design. Will work to add COM ports to ...
Rugged design. Will work to add COM ports to a PC. I found the "COM Retention: COM Port assignments maintained across reboot" statement to be misleading. I was expecting the product to do this, but it relies on Windows to do it. And Windows was not remembering the COM Ports across reboot with current drivers that Windows 7 kept installing for the product. At one point I was up in the 20s for COM Port numbering. Support was not much help with the issue. Eventually got it resolved thru much trial and error.
