Not bad
Easy enough to install, but instructions would have been nice. Just kind of winged it. Sounds good, like any other free flowing intake. Decent price compared to name brand kits. Looks good. Fairly sturdy. Fit well enough, but the filter rests up against the inner fender, so it will get scratched up. No lights on the dash, so MAF sensor is happy. No real complaints here.

Question ? on The Filter, But Other Than That Its A "GO"
Priced very well, right in the market with similar parts and brand names for these parts, the filters are always the question marks when it comes to this and you can never tell until there are some miles behind it, but the durability and the build of these parts are right along the lines of where it should be so not seeing anything that would lead me to believe this will be an issue.

Looks good, works good, kind of a pain to install.
Good quality components in this kit. Some instructions would have been nice. I have a lot of experience working on vehicles and it took be a little bit to figure this out. I had to enlarge some of the holes in the heat shield to get it to bolt in properly. The whole thing barely fits in between the intake and the fender. The filter actually rests up against the fender making it hard to remove for filter cleaning. Back to back tests I ran showed the factory air box flowing 208 G/S at WOT and the Marsflex CAI flowing 218 G/S at WOT. So, there is an air flow increase with this kit. It also sounds much better. Much of the extra on the factory intake pipe is to reduce sound in the intake tract. With this kit you can hear the engine at WOT and really get a feel for what it is doing.

Inexpensive kit for the older trucks than competes with better known brand
I've got a 2004 Escalade ESV with the 6.0l engine. The truck's OEM airbox and 'vortec' or whatever air intake system is impossibly complicated. I previously installed a Spectre kit that is very similar to the Marsflex with a few key differences, including the intake pipe that polished metal. Both systems use a heat isolation box that you assemble which helps to reduce engine heat that reduces the air density. The most important item in the kit is the filter. It appears to be well made and competitive with the Spectre unit. I cannot compare to the K&N filters because I dont own one. The test will come when it's time to wash the filter and then re-oil. That's the drawback of these units is that you cannot simply drop a $10 filter into the box and be done. Now its spraying cleaning fluid on filter, gently rinse, dry, apply oil, and then reinstall. However, this kit is priced similarly to what just a filter costs for other kits, so there is value here if the filter holds up to cleaning and such.
