Scotty 1182 Mini Power Grip Plus Release, Planer Board (4-Pack)

I use these as downrigger release clips when I am kayak fishing, and they work great! They are small, which is nice when you have limited space in a kayak. For their size though, they are surprisingly strong, and I have had no issues using them to troll large dodgers and lures deep for lake trout and walleye. They are cheap, super easy to use, and their bright color makes them easy to keep track of.

Used these to make planers for fishing. Used several times. Works well.

If you are a fisherman and do a lot of trolling, you most likely know what these are used for. I think you Will be very satisfied with this product. (down Riggers)

I use these to make individual releases for Kokanee downrigger fishing. The mini size is great for this application. I just use vinyl coated wire leader and crimping sleeves to make 30 inch releases with a snap swivel on one end. These releases can be used as normal with downrigger balls or you can use the included ring clips with 4 oz round weights to use them as stacker releases. The picture on the search page is wrong, but once you go to the product page it is correct.

I use these on my home brewed in-line planer boards and they work great! I've tested these from the bank of the Colorado River, which runs anywhere from 8-12 mph and the clips hold my line securely in the current!! No problems at all running these at trolling speeds of 1-1/2 to 2 mph on the lake. Will definitely buy more when these give up the ghost!
