It was a gray morning, the kind where the frost traces patterns on the windowpane, when I cracked open the box. The oatmeal is good stuff—hearty, warm, the kind of food that sticks to your ribs. It’s low in sugar, too, which is just right for my lovely wife. She has to watch those things, you know. It cooks up fast—ready before you can finish your first cup of coffee. But let me tell you about the box. It feels substantial in your hands. Heavy. Solid. There is a lot of oatmeal in there, and when I say a lot, I mean enough to wait out a blizzard. I stood there in the kitchen light, holding that box, and asked myself, Do we really need this much oatmeal? Looking out at the cold, I guess the answer is yes. You can never be too prepared.

I absolutely LOVE oatmeal and eat it every morning for breakfast. I usually use the Kroger store brand but ran out and wasn't able to get to the store so I ordered this on Amazon. It's good but has a little spicy taste to it that I'm not crazy about. I prefer the plain maple brown sugar flavor, but this will definitely do in a pinch! It's pretty good!
