LEGO Steam Train

Excellent set. With getting this one over the neeer set currently on sale from Lego as the actions and extras are better on this set (I think the train looks better too!). Lots of fun and easy for toddlers to use.

My 2 year old got this set (with two add-on’s) for his birthday and he enjoys it thoroughly. Even more so when we build and play with him. We have enjoyed this set as much as he has and intend on buying more duplo town add-ons! Very intelligent train set with a neat app that lets you control the train. Love the push power feature. Lego in general is expensive but I do think this is a good value for money set! You get hours of fun (and some time to sit and enjoy your coffee while your toddler plays). Eats up batteries like most kid toys do so consider getting rechargeables!

It’s fabulous, loved by grandson and family. Many hours of delight

I bought this for my two year old train lover. He absolutely loves it. It’s such a great toy because it encourages creativity and gives children hours of play. He loves connecting it with his other Duplo train cars, putting people inside it, stacking blocks on it, etc. It’s also great for changing it up as dinner time. You can put food in the train and have it drive around. My son loved it. Aside from all this good stuff, it’s also fantastic quality. Really solid and can withstand a toddler.

Duplo have created a brilliant toy. The train is solid and robust and holds a driver, the carriage takes three passengers with a double hinged lid so there’s no frustration getting the roof back on after you’ve loaded your passengers. The powered base of the train can be removed and the body of the engine can sit on the carriage base if they want to power the train themselves and my son often does push it along. This means he has no carriage but that’s not a problem as this can be linked up to the Duplo number train which conveniently fits on the tracks. Down sides, the small green on and off button got jammed in on Christmas morning. He was so excited turning the train on and off as it makes a little beep so you know it’s powered up, that he pressed harder and harder until it took five minutes with tweezers to prise it back out so gentle fingers on the button. The other negative is that the track is very small. Clearly all the cost (and it’s not a cheap toy) is spent on the train. There is enough to make an average sized oval but that’s that so the novelty can wear off if your games aren’t inventive. We have added the bridges and points packs to it tripling the cost but at least giving a reasonable size set with some good track options.

Great product

Weve just bought these for our soon to be 3 year old! He is obsessed with trains and i know he will adore this. Hunby and myself set it all up when it arrived last week to check it worked and loved it! My only criticism is that for £50 you do not get a lotfor your money. Bare minimum track, and bare minimum lego duplo. I do love the activity buttons for the track though. Seems very robust and the push and go technology is great!

I write this review based on decades of experiences raising a family and as a consumer. I bought this with my two year old granddaughter in mind. She is a very bright child and was putting the track together more or less straight out of the box. The only criticism I have is that there is a severe shortage of track. Not got a bigger room, use less track but if there is space, the supplied track is simply too small. The intelligent instruction bars are good although some of them are the next best thing to pointless. The train needs batteries, none are supplied which is a shame but at least they are a common thus easily obtained size. Using hand pressure is stfficient to push start the train. Assembly of the train, track and accessories was very easy and the child did so having been shown just the once. I got extra track elsewhere Overall, quite expensive with too little track but it will give a lot of pleasant play time for kids to about five years old

Tren de muy buena calidad, muy muy resistente. Puede ir por las vías o por el suelo, se mueve cuando el niño lo empuja hacia delante o hacia atrás y se para cuando choca con algo o cuando lo paras con la mano. Tiene unas piezas de colores que son como comandos para el tren y que pare, de media vuelta, encienda la luz, haga ruido. Además se pueden hacer varios circuitos y venden por separado más vías para agrandar el recorrido. Es el juguete con el que más ha jugado el niño y su hermana de 9 meses tampoco puede dejar de mirar al tren moviéndose. La calidad se nota que duplo (de Lego) fabrica cosas para niños pequeños, no hay casi piezas pequeñas, los muñecos no se pueden desmontar y resiste a golpes y golpes.

Great train and hours of entertainment for the kids.

Ho preso questo set per mio nipote di due anni. Avevo ancora conservati pezzi dei miei figli di oltre 15 anni fa per cui posso dire che la lego ha molto migliorato il prodotto anche se più lento dei precedenti. Gli action briks, la vera novità di questa versione, sono dei pezzi colorati che si mettono tra le rotaie e attivano diverse funzioni al passaggio del treno come inversione di marcia, stop, accensioni luci ed effetti sonori. La locomotiva infatti ha un sensore che rileva il colore dell’inserto ed esegue il relativo comando. Piccolo trucchetto (visto da internet ma non sperimentato personalmente) se trovate dei cartoncini colorati dello stesso colore degli inserti potete ottenere lo stesso risultato. Ho caricato una foto di un percorso che ho realizzato con l’aggiunta di elementi già in mio possesso mentre il video è realizzato esclusivamente con il set acquistato. I binari dei nuovi set sono di un grigio più chiaro delle versioni precedenti. L’app è un vero sballo divertente da usare. Buon divertimento
