I've had Android Auto in several of my vehicles over the past few years and I really like having it available. Unfortunately I also love my 2013 Ford F-250 which didn't come with Android Auto installed. Bummer! So, I thought I'd take a chance on this one. The price was attractive and with easy Amazon returns, what did I have to lose. Of all the Android Auto units I've set up, this is by far the easiest one to do! I'm not going to get into the nitty picky details on how to do it. You can read other reviews about that. Just take my word that it was just super easy and works right off the bat. I'm using an unused FM radio channel for audio. And it auto connects to your phone when you start the vehicle. Can't get any simpler than that. Because it has a built-in FM transmitter, the audio quality is excellent. Touch screen is very responsive. Bright, clear and sharp display. I don't have a lot more to say about except I am extremely happy with it! I don't have an Apple phone, so I couldn't check out the Car Play version of it but I'm sure it works just as well. Oh, and one bonus..... It has a screen mirroring function. It will play videos from your phone directly to it. Only use this while you're parked of course. I recommend ordering one and given to the shot!

I have an 2004 car that did not have Andriod Auto or any other modern applications. I could order a new head unit that would update the factory unit for over $1,200 plus installation. I decided to give this a try instead and am I glad I did. The installation is a breeze. Just plug the unit in and follow the instructions on the screen. After a simple pairing with my phone and updating Android Auto on the app store, the connection was made. Since my car does not have an auxiliary input, I set up the FM transmitter. I was skeptical that it would work well as I have tried other transmitters in the past. Boy, was I surprised, the audio clarity is very good. It reminds me of HD Radio quality. Now, I simply jump in the car and plug the unit in and in about 10 seconds, it connects to my phone and displays the Android Auto screen. I unplug the unit from the cigarette lighter when I turn the car off since mine is always on even when car is turned off. If your car turns your cigarette lighter off when the car is off, no need to unplug. I am very happy with the installation capabilities as my dash is short and the suction cup holder extends far enough to make the screen sit low and not block the windshield. Ever since I used CarPlay in a rental vehicle, I have wanted CarPlay for my vehicle. I have an older car so there is no CarPlay. I was checking around for a stereo when I saw this CarPlay Display for the low cost of ~$50. Could it work? I received the box and inside was the display, a mounting bracket and various cables such as a 1/8" stereo audio cord so you can connect the output of the device to your existing stereo (provided it has an aux in). There's a small manual that describes the various connections that you can make. Also provided is a nice lighter charger with an extra USB slot on top. Perfect for existing charger setups. I set it up in my car as a test without mounting. I just wanted to see if it worked. I turned it on and it asked to pair to my iPhone. It also said to keep WiFI enabled on the iPhone. I bluetooth paired and like MAGIC CarPlay came up on the display. I was amazed! This worked right away. Not only that the display has a decently loud speaker system so I didn't need to hook it up to my stereo. I also found out it has a mic on the lower bottom left. I made calls; everyone said it sounded great! I tried out the messaging feature - it's nice! It reads out the messages and I am able to respond. Very cool. Mounting. This was the tough part. I wanted to mount it to the side of the dash, but even though I had a good clean surface, the provided mount eventually slipped off. I realized that the top of dash method is probably the best and I used the provided small adhesive circle with plastic to stick on the dash, then the mounting unit. So far so good. It's really cool to finally have CarPlay! I have been using it for a few days now and it is more reliable than my stereo ever was. My stereo had bluetooth, a Siri button etc.... but it always glitched out with Siri, bluetooth calls were sometimes distorted or dropped and every time Apple came out with a new version of iOS, I had to unpair and set it up again. This CarPlay display is great and for just $50, it's a great deal. Happy I got it!

After only one month of use, the Apple CarPlay screen fell off my dashboard because the adhesive is very weak. For a product like this, secure mounting is essential. It’s frustrating to have it fail so quickly. I wouldn’t recommend it unless the mounting/glue is improved.

Great option for anyone without a native CarPlay unit. It boots quickly and is easy to use. The touch screen response is acceptable. I love the ease of use and quality of the unit. The only complaint is the interference I can hear in the speaker. I’ve had many gadgets plugged into my aux port with no audible interference coming through the speakers.
