I use my cool pack in a variety of ways, they are permanently stored in the freezer (although they are for both heat and cool, if you are going to heat them be mindful as the tendency is to microwave them for too long which causes the gel inside to overheat and compromise the seal rendering the item useless) I have a sleeve which is used to secure the cool pack in place - a long sock is just as good tbh, I have trouble with arthritis in my neck so as long as it’s in some kind of protective environment it does feel too cold on your skin. It’s also great in very hot weather, just drape it round your neck, bliss! They freeze pretty quickly as they are thin, bonus. Good value for money, definitely recommend. As there are two, one is freezing whilst the other is soothing your aches and pains.

Smaller than expected but work well, hot and cold

I bought these for using after my hip replacement which took down the pain and swelling, they stay cold for ages is say let defrost a bit as they are quite ridgid, they bend and flex nicely to the effected area, wrap in a cloth like a tea town or t-shirt so it's not directly on your skin.

Quality And Value

These hot and cold Applicators I’m quite good however I found the respective of whether you heated them up or called them in the fridge or freezer. They quickly return to room temperature within a matter of a few minutes. They certainly do the job as for a short period of time, they very much retain their heat or coldness and prove effective at doing the job for the duration of the time they remain at the desired temperature.

It’s like strapping a polite little glacier to your body. Flexible enough to wrap around knees, shoulders, or anywhere life decides to remind you you’re not 21 anymore. Bonus: makes you feel heroic walking around with it like an injured athlete, even if you only hurt yourself reaching for the remote.

It's good for the localized cooling (which is the purpose of it), but it desperately needs a strap. I bought this to put on my elbow and I need to wrap a long piece of fabric around it to stay in place and it barely does the job (since I can't tighten it, otherwise it blocks circulation). If it had a strap it would be much more useful. If you are going to only place it on top of an injury and not need to strap it around, then it works fine. The pack is well made and of quality material and it's compact to put in the freezer. I also make sure I use it with some fabric between the pad and my skin to prevent freeze burn. Despite all these points, I still think it's a good purchase and it helps with minimizing the pain.
