Dry Time!!!
I don't have a ton of experience dehydrating food, but this machine seems pretty nice. I liked the reviews I saw so I went for it. First batch turned out very good. Machine seems to run efficiently. Very quiet. Very easy to use. Can't wait till summer time to experiment with different fruits and herbs. We have so much fresh fruit in the area, it seems weird to buy fruit in the winter when prices are higher. Will definitely stock pile this summer. Haven't made jerky yet, but I feel like it will be a breeze when I do!!

Great update from our first Excalibur!
Beautiful perfect machine, amazing results and nice and quiet. Our 1st Excalibur is still running strong after 18 years, but this one is superior in every way. Very happy!

Quiet
Quiet and works great. Made beef jerk and was done in 5 hours. Had the beef sliced very thin. Dried apples and pineapples and kids preferred them over store bought. Have used it already 3 times in a week and works as instructions show in manual.

Terrible customer service
Update: Excalibur finally responded and said the light bulb wasn't under warranty (which I expected, even though it lasted for only a few seconds). What I wanted to know was how to access the light bulb to change it out. They said I would have to disassemble the dehydrator to access it and by doing that I would void the warranty. What in the world???!!! Overall I like the dehydrator. However, after the 2nd use, the light bulb either burner but or the switch doesn't work. I had only turned it on to inspect the produce, then right back off. I reached out to Excalibur and they needed a list of items from me - just short of my first born child. A 10 second minimum video has to be included. I provided all this information. Wanted to know what bulb and how to access it. SILENCE!!! Now I know this is a small thing, but this is a clear indication of what would happen if the problem were larger and it made my dehydrator useless. Perhaps I will get a Corsi if this one dies. Let me add, that the first one I ordered arrived with the glass falling out of the doors. I returned it to Amazon for a replacement. I know ow someone above in the comments said the racks were plastic. They are NOT plastic, they are metal.

This thing is a beast!
Double check your measurements for sure! This isn’t your normal countertop dehydrator. We make our own pork jerky from pork tenderloin and we had 4 good size tenderloins and we could have easily done 2.5x the amount after slicing, pounding and curing it. We spaced the pieces generously covering the wire rack, but far enough apart that they wouldn’t dry together. It’s fairly quiet, also! I checked it a few times because I couldn’t hear it. There is a small space in between the French doors that I don’t love, but it doesn’t affect temperature control at all! Quality feels sturdy and well made, and there wasn’t a burning smell from the motor like some give off. Overall, the value is great and we look forward to deer jerky this year!

Works as it should and as intended, not a great value though.
I have mixed feelings about this purchase. The last dehydrator I had was a Tribest Sedona. I let a friend borrow it and felt bad asking for it back so decided to replace it. Excalibur has been the biggest name in dehydrators for as long as I can remember. It seems like dehydrators have recently made a comeback in popularity and the market is over saturated with them. I decided to go with the cadillac of dehydrators here. These trays honestly stress me out WAY more than even the generical off brand plastic trays. I've just come to terms with ALWAYS using parchment paper with them. The good is, it's fine. It heats up, it keeps a consistent enough temperature, it seems to dehydrate evenly enough. So it works. For the cost though there is absolutely nothing spectacular about it. The quality of the trays is despicable. I have gone back to see what it called them and it says "chrome plated" for food? They are super thin and it's really inconsistent and bendy. The housing of the machine is VERY thin. When it starts it releases a chemical smell. It took 2-3 different sessions before it really went away. Moral of the story for me is, this is fine. If you get a GREAT deal on it go for it. Otherwise the other off brand generic crap machines truly look like they would beat this in the quality department and at the moment that I'm writing this at less than half the cost, if I had it to do again I definitely wouldn't have paid extra for Excalibur. For basically being the brand of machine that everything is ranked on, it's REALLLLLLY underwhelming and disappointing. It works though, which is nice (it's not always the case).

I love how easy this is to use.
I love how easy this is to use. The design of the glass doors really makes it easy to see how everything is doing without having toped it up. It has almost no noise at all. It really works great. It has such a large capacity I can process so much at one time.

This thing is fantastic!
I'd say this is the best dehydrator we've owned, and we've owned several. It's whisper quite, very easy to use, and the timer feature works perfect. All of the racks are high-quality and easy to clean. Big win!

Alguien me ayuda a saber cómo hacer los chips de verduras? (Camote, betabel, zanahoria). Utilicé la receta del libro que trae y quedan agüadas. Intenté hacerlas de nuevo sin cocción previa y quedan sin sabor.
