Title. Simple to install SSD from crashed computer and explore files using Windows. Two gotchas - the screws are tiny, and I wish there were a LED to tell you if it is getting power. Edit: Used it for a second SSD and works great. May need to play with changing permissions to view SSD main drive from another computer. There IS an LED to tell if there is power.

The 10Gbps transfer speeds are no joke—I dragged a folder so big it could’ve contained my entire embarrassing LimeWire history, and it was done before I had time to make coffee. The aluminum casing keeps everything cool, and it’s slim enough to slip into a pocket without looking like I’m smuggling Pop-Tarts. Plus, it feels solid—like I could throw it across the room during a rage-quit gaming session, and it would still come back asking if I had more files to transfer. This work just fine for me. I mounted SSD's in them to use portable storage. Better than flash drives for the purpose. I don't need to keep swapping the ssd's inside, so the simple catch holddown instead of the tiny screw is sufficient.

The drive works for a few minutes and then completely disconnects. The thermal solution for this is basically nothing so the drive is overheating and disconnecting to prevent damage making this enclosure a dead product. The thermal pad provided isn’t going to save anything as it isn’t thick enough to make contact with the aluminum chassis, but even if it was the chassis couldn’t close so no matter what it is a horrible design. Can’t use this at all. Complete waste of money. I don’t recommend buying this at all. Go with a sandwich design enclosure; those are built to make full contact with the drive via a thermal pad directly to the enclosure so it should perform much better with thermals. For reference, I’m using a crucial gen 5 NVME 2 TB. Also, if you have a drive that has chips on both sides, this enclosure won’t work; physically can only support chips on a single side as the standoffs throughout the enclosure will make contact with the chips and bend the PCB. Terrible design.

I purchased this specifically to be able to initialize and format the newer PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD devices. For that purpose it does the trick. It can handle multiple sizes from 2280 to 2220. If you ever need to replace a dead M.2 SSD you'd have to physically install the new one in a working Win 11 PC and go thru the steps. This can be a hassle if the PC you are using has a dead SSD. This device is a great option for getting the initialization done on any PC with a USB connection.

Funziona ed è fatto molto molto bene. Premessa. Avevo preso un "senza marca" economico e non c'era verso di farlo funzionare ma rimaneva il dubbio se fosse il modulo SSD (preso usato come nuovo) o il case. Continue disconnessioni e "idle" che mandava il sistema in freeze! Il case Ugreen invece funziona benissimo. Il case - bello solido in alluminio - si fissa con una piccola vite (e in dotazione c'è anche una vite di riserva), comodo per aprirlo e chiuderlo senza dover fare pressioni o altro. C'è un pad siliconico che si adagia direttamente sul modulo di memoria, vanno levate le due pellicole. L'ho usato trasferendoci quasi 150GB di continuo e non solo non ha dato problemi, ma non si è neanche riscaldato! Velocità di trasferimento alta nonostante fosse collegato a un usb 3.0 di vecchia generazione ma poi l'ho provato anche su un usb 3.2 gen 2 e tutto ok. Da tenere in conto: - Il case non fa riconoscere la marca della memoria interna ma ha il sopravvento, quindi l'utility dashboard dell'SSD non lo trova nel mio caso come SSD WD/SanDisk (ho montato un ED Black SN850X Gen4 con 1GB Dram) - il cavo non è lungo ma è ben fatto

The performance is terrible. Tried it with multiple SSD’s but al show the same problem. Performance starts at reasonable speeds and then drops down to speeds below 100 megabytes per second. Happens on either Linux and Windows systems, used several machines to make sure it isn’t hardware related. Using the SSD in an other enclosure shows perfect balanced speed with larger and smaller files.

Item received overnight from Amazon, and at reasonable price. Used the M.2 NVMe SSD Adapter to clone my old smaller Boot SSD in my PC and it worked as expected. The adapter did not get overly hot during then process. It's robust construction is a plus as I can pack it into my camara bag without causing damage to the SSD.

Sauber verarbeitet Wirkt hochwertig und nicht billig. Fazit: Wenn man schnell an Daten auf einer NVMe-SSD muss oder eine SSD retten will, ist dieses Gehäuse eine extrem praktische Lösung. Spart Zeit, Nerven und Schrauberei.
