I have a variety of scan tools that I use frequently. I have an Xtool, a GearWrench, a few different Launch tools and a Kingbolen. Most of these claim to have more service functions than my Autel. This is not the case on my Gm and Ford vehicles. The Autel was far faster than the others. The Autel also has better features than the others. I really appreciate the expandable memory because I record a lot of live data and read codes. I can then back all the read codes and live data into files on my pc to keep organized. The Autel has always auto identified all my vehicles and the assortment of vehicles I frequently service. The usability is great. It easily reads codes and clear codes. It has must better accuracy on the graphs than all my other scan tools. It’s also a one and done on every job it performs. My Xtool d8s seems to have a hard time relearning the crank position sensor. It would say everything was completed but it was not. The Autel has better guidance than the other scanners. It walked you through the relearns. It performs the needed jobs quickly, easily and effectively. I do a decent amount of custom tuning and the use the scan tools to relearn CPS and fuel trims so it adapts quickly. What I appreciate most about the Autel is how easy it is to use. It guides you through some functions. It also provides the live data in a accurate manner as well as defines what the normal range on many sensors for quick and easy diagnosis of sensors. This is super handy with GM vehicles because the the factory range is huge, so even if they on their way out , the scan tool will make it easier to identify and replace weak sensors and really get your vehicle dialed in. If I could only have one tool, it would be my Autel. It’s insanely accurate graphing of live data and easy of use really sets Autel apart from the competitors.

I work in auto body and these scan tools are pretty much mandatory anymore. I got tired of always having to borrow one so I did some research on these ones and decided to try it out. It's worked on every vehicle iv connected it to including brand new 2024 GM and Toyota vehicles which I commonly work on. I can diagnose easily any system that is having trouble codes and I can control any module in the vehicle to actively test them such as Windows or door locks or even convertible tops with what ever sensors available telling me what they are currently doing. Great tool and naturally depending on manufacturer of the vehicle will depend on how friendly it is to find what you need but if you do enough work in the automotive field you know where to look for what you need. Iv compared it to a scan tool that values at over $8000 and this scanner was able to do most everything that one could. I would have had to go up to the next model to truly match the expensive one but it has features I dont actually need such as programming tpms, but it is nice to know that is available if I needed it. But worth the price for what it is capable of. The last note is it is also capable of wifi printing the reports which is a huge bonus for my work. They look professional and they are easy to read and you can even set up the header for your company and contact information. You can even set it up so that the customer information is available and attached to each work order that you scan. All you need is a wifi printer attached to the same wifi as your scanner and that's it to set it up to print reports. Just a side note on this, it does not read Tesla vehicles. You will have to find a Tesla specific scanner for that. They are very protective of their products, so finding a scanner for one is kinda difficult, but I believe I have seen one.

As a result of my inquiry to Autel's customer service, the MK808BT Pro came recommended by Autel for the Dodge Grand Caravan I was thinking of purchasing. Their customer service was outstanding, consistently replying with thorough answers to my questions. The unit arrived well packed in a nice carrying case. I had no issues connecting the MK808BT Pro tablet to the wifi at home (2.4 gHz), registering it (a requirement), and letting it complete the over 70 updates via wifi. This took 1-2 hours to perform (xfinity speed). But you can pick just the updates you need if you are in a hurry. There were only 2 or 3 required system updates as I recall and those took just a few minutes. The remainder were all the latest updates for the makes of vehicles Autel supports (Europe and NA). The bluetooth data link transmitter is a nice feature - no wires - and it has a blue LED to let you know it is plugged into the vehicle's data link port and powered. I chose to have the tablet/scan tool read the VIN automatically, which it did and had the correct vehicle type within a few seconds. I then used the diagnostics to pull up the engine data while the engine was running to view the cam values. Since I just purchased the Grand Caravan, I was eager to check the cam timing targets vs actual. Within a minute, I found the data! The screen is bright and easy to read too. The MK808BT Pro reads a lot of data points. Pages of data! It was quite dazzling considering I've only owned one other scanner from the OBD1 days. I also checked for any stored codes along with the number of key-on cycles afterward. The only one it found (air conditioning related) made sense based on the service I had the seller perform prior to purchase. Since my Grand Caravan is from 2015, it is a non FCA vehicle. So, I won't really need the annual Autel subscription. But if I need or choose to have an update done at a later time after the 1 year period ends, Autel will provide it for a (discounted) fee. I know there is some bi-directional capability with this unit too. I just haven't had the need to try that feature yet. For the DIY home mechanic, this is an excellent scanner! And the information and assurance this product provides, it is well worth the price in my opinion. Thanks Autel.

Where do I start? With the industry edge innovation this company has or just how great and simple their products are to use? Or how about we start with customer service? All are top notch and I highly recommend to anyone if you need a scanner, let the autel line find a place in your tool haven. You wouldn't regret it. Not only does this scanner perform basic tests, but it is also bidirectional meaning you can trigger certain test functions and, freeze frame live data, do relearn for new parts and so much more. I am extremely please with the ease of setting up the unit to plugging it in to begin my diagnosis. Wifi setup and connectivity is great, the screen is large enough to easily read and navigate through, there really isn't a mark they didn't hit with this unit. I can't wait to upgrade but I have to say I will always keep this scanner even when I do upgrade to the next autel line up. AUTEL MK808BT PRO is a perfect diagnostic tool for anyone who wants to work on modern vehicles. Interface is intuitive and you get a full year of software updates with the purchase. Functionality is not limited to diargnostic, but also includes service features such as reseting maintenance codes, retracting electronic parking brakes, and many other features. Couldn't be happier with the product.

This scan tool is amazing. I really love it. It brings up codes that are not even part of the check engine light and the light doesn't even have to be on to pull the codes. The Bluetooth aspect is a very very convenient addition to this tool. It goes quite a ways away and still reads, allowing you to find shade most of the time when you can't get the car in the shade. The downside is that the seller, not the company, was not completely honest about the product. They mention that it has TPMS capabilities leaving out theat the function is extremely basic and doesn't do everything you might want it to do. This brand makes one pretty much identical that has had the extra software for TPMS capabilities added(just FYI). It also allows for real time data, showing many many aspects of the engine performance, cam-crank ratio, fuel pressure, true percentage of fuel level, fuel tank capacity, timing of each misfire, and so many others. It has the option to take freeze frames to allow for future viewing of live data. You can save code reads, take pictures, and has a shop manager option. The shop manager option gives the ability to input customer info, customer car linking and specific scans and data linking to each car and customer. When first purchased and registered you receive a year of free software upgrades that come up to the scan tool. In the pictures you can see that mine is at 100% battery life, I have not charged it (nor have I used it) in almost 2 months, so battery life while it's off is very sustaining. Another great feature is the function to do a Google search directly from a specific code. You just scan the car, look at the codes, click on one, then select search and look up the issue to find possible solutions online.

Better than what I expected! A great tool that supports every manufacturer and model vehicle. Loaded with many great features that enable the user to diagnose and repair in a timely manner. Great for DIY fixers who want to save money on automotive repair costs. Highly recommended!

Great scanner and excellent support. Since stepping up from a simple code reader to this bidirectional scanner, I had many questions and concerns. Autel's support immediately addressed all of my concerns. I can't praise Manta and the Autel engineers enough for their outstanding support and remarkable patience. This scanner has too many features to mention. Its menus are well laid out and easy to use. The unit is very fast and most tasks are completed in seconds. It offers many services for older vehicles such as my Jeep tj. In conclusion, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again for its many capabilities and excellent customer support. Thanks.
