Frommer's London (Complete Guide)

Like other Frommers' books - this one works well - even in the age of tech when most everything you seeking is in an app - some of use love to scroll through a real old fashioned travel guide. It layout is smart; with some easy tips and sections to make searching quicker. There is a great London map that detaches and you can tuck into a pocket. London is chock full of so many highlights - you can certainly find what you need in this....I recommend it. Not too big and a nice read overall.

Love this book. This was referred to me by a London Travel Group on fb. It is great!

The travel guide itself is excellent. However, the new Elizabeth Line is omitted from the rail transportation map inside the front cover, and it is not labelled on the large, removable map that comes with the book. On the otherwise good removable map, the Elizabeth Line is shown if you know where to look and look carefully. It took me a couple weeks to notice it. By comparison, each of the other rail lines are clearly labelled in multiple places. The Elizabeth Line has 41 stations and runs east-west across all of central London. This line is referred to in writing throughout the travel guide. This is probably the most used public transportation rail line in the UK. In 2023 it carried one-seventh of ALL trips by rail. It should therefore be included on the rail map on the inside of the book's front cover and should be clearly labelled on the pull-out map.

We looked at several guidebooks and picked the right one. Very informative and concise. It contains an excellent foldout map that was easy to read which we used for logistical planning each day.

I spent a ton of time on Tripadvisor, Rick Steves forums, and Facebook London groups to plan our recent trip, but there's something about a paper travel guide that still fills a need. With all of the information I had from online sources, I still was having a hard time organizing and prioritizing, and the guidebook helped me do that.

For first timers, this is great. Excellent advice on using The Tube, decent advice on Pubs, etc. Great Maps
