There are too many problems with this device. They sent 10 DVD's that are not even compatible with the recorder. When getting ready to record, it says "Disk is not ready". You can't even format them. It says "only dvd+rw or dvd-rw disk can be erased". I had a few DVD's of my own that worked a little better. I had to format the disk on my computer in order for the device to recognize it. The video quality that you select determines the amount of time that you can record. I was seeing options like 15 minutes or 43 minutes. I tweaked the settings a few times to finally make it see a recording time that was longer than my video. I tried burning to USB as well and got similar results. I wasted an entire Saturday trying to get this thing to work and now I am so frustrated with it that I just want to return it. I could not find an option for technical support or troubleshooting until I got ready to return the item. At this point it's too late.

This was a little more complicated than I thought it would be for the average person. I took it over to a techie friend of mine and he had a field day with it. The transfer quality looks great and it was really well.priced. My friend said it was a bit tedius compared to some others he has tried but overall for the price offered a good deal. Best probably for those with experience because I was new to this and it was worthless to me without my buddy to explain it all. Directions are not very clear for those who are.like me and IT inept.

The product doesn't seem to work. I tried the DVD disks that were sent with the unit and some of my own. The format disc option does not appear when a new disc is installed. Sometimes it will record but then indicates "incorrect disc" when it goes to burn the DVD.The USB output wasn't any better. It would record then burn but the files were empty when opened on the computer. I'm not sure if it was the Thumb drive's capacity being too large. I was able to transfer one small video on a 32GB thumb drive. I will give it one more attempt before I send this back.No technical support.

Don't work for me

This device could be the answer to video/data transfers IF it actually worked. Although the setup is intuitive I made sure to read both included user manual/guide booklets. I followed the directions as printed with no success in transferring any video or data to either a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive. The VHS video refused to display on the device screen.I was able to view the contents of a flash drive (very clear on the small screen), but could not record to a flash drive.I used the included DVD discs and tried a couple Philips DVD-R discs all with no success.This will be returned - too expensive for non- functional issues.

This is actually super cool! We have a lot of old family VHS and I thought it would be really neat to get this and be able to transfer them all over so they would be digital. This one let you do digital or transfer it into a dvd. Which is good either way! This came very well packed and secured and everything was 100% true to the ad. Everything was very well labeled and all of the buttons were easy to use! Everything functions as it should and you can flawlessly transfer everything over. The sound quality is excellent on it and overall I think it's an amazing value for your money! It works so fast and you have digital copies of family memories! Solid 10 out of 10! Great product

Doesn't work at all to record any length.
