Wow! This Headset is Amazing! Experience Well Worth the Investment!
UPDATE: OK, so I've had this for months now, and I still love it! I use it every day! It's so nice to just escape sometimes; once you put it on, you're no longer in your living room, or your basement... the graphics are that good on some of these apps! My go-to apps are Supernatural: Unreal Fitness (turn the coaches off via the Focus button, as they get annoying after a while), and Beat Saber... I use them every day. Beat Saber has some incredible surrounding graphics and animations, and I love slicing through all the cubes moving toward me to amazing music. Unreal Fitness drops you in really cool places around the world (and some made up, I've noticed), and it doesn't even feel like exercise; it's so satisfying to break 100% of the glass balls! You just don't know until you try it, and it's so believable since the graphics is incredibly crisp and clear! OK... original post below: This is my first experience with VR/AR/MR, as I chose to wait until the graphics were more impressive (actually, I've been waiting quite a long time... since VR conversations became fairly commonplace with the release of the Sega Genesis! Yeah... I'm that old.). I'm so glad I started with this unit (Meta Quest 3) because I was truly blown away right from the start! The setup process was easy enough, though it had its quirks (I used an e-mail setup since I don't use Facebook). In setting up the MQ3 via my phone, I noticed I had to close the app twice to get it to resume where it left off (when you close/reopen, it recognizes you were not done and resumes without issue, so try that if you get stuck). I've only had it for a few days and am blown away by the Batman app (I don't like fighting games, but this is mostly exploring with relatively little fighting), Red Matter (incredible experience; finished it yesterday!), Red Matter 2 (started today and am already hooked!), and I really love the Supernatural: Unreal Fitness program! The first two apps were free (Batman is included in the package I bought here, and Red Matter (the 1st one) came with the free Quest+ trial subscription, and I paid for the latter two. The Unreal Fitness program is $10/month, and totally worth it! You can't know/understand until you try it, and they do give you a free week trial, btw. I am a runner (all my life) and enjoy staying in shape, and this fitness program is amazing, as they drop you in different (beautiful!) places around the world, and the music is great and the movement patterns are really fun (honestly, I didn't think I'd like it at first, as it sounded boring... but I'm so glad I kept an open/curious mind and tried it out!). The graphics on the games is so detailed, right down to chipped paint and curling wallpaper on walls, etc... and I love the intuitive movements... I'm the guy who will squat down in these games to check under chairs and desks for clues, and it's just so amazingly realistic! I did begin to feel somewhat panicked the first time I crawled out of the window in Batman and looked down into the alley from several stories up (and when I entered that huge generator room in Red Matter), but that just added to the experience and believability, so I'm more impressed by it than bothered! In fact, I was so impressed with the overall experience that I bought a set for my wife (she likes it, too) and another for my parents so that they can try it out! Highly recommended! I also bought the Elite Strap Battery for more comfort and to add more play time and I'm glad I did, so consider getting one of those, too (or a similar device). Oh, and you'll need a rubber/silicone cover for the mask part (that touches your face) to protect that cloth from sweat (not sure why they put cloth there... odd). Anyway, enjoy! I certainly am!

Hours of fun just make sure you get some rechargeable batteries for the controllers
The Meta Quest 3 is a huge step up from the previous version. The visuals are noticeably sharper, the mixed reality passthrough looks great, and everything feels smoother and faster thanks to the upgraded processor. The setup was quick, the controllers are super responsive, and the comfort level is much better for longer sessions. I use it for both gaming and fitness, and it handles both with no lag. The mixed reality features are a nice touch and make the experience feel more natural. Battery life could be a little longer, but overall, it’s an incredible standalone VR headset that’s absolutely worth it.

I fell in love with it!
I got this for my son and fell in love with it myself. VR is such a cool thing to show off to folks that never tried actual VR before. This headset was even cooler than I thought it would be. We have a ps4VR and the cords are a total nightmare! But the S3 puts that VR headset to shame. The graphics and lenses are amazing. Probably better than my TV. Do not bother with the Quest 3S. By the time you buy it its like 450$ and for $50 more, you are getting alot more storage and waaaaay better lenses. So I'd get the 3 or nothing. We love not having wires and it being a standalone device that can also work with the PC if needed. I used an app similar to Google earth street view and walked around my childhood neighborhood in VR and it was simply amazing! The only drawback is the battery life. My son will play hard with gorilla tag and rec room and the battery usually last around 2 to 2.5 hours. But IMO that's more than enough. By then he should be taking a break anyways!! These are for more than gaming. My mother is in her 70s and she wants one for her bday simple for the Google street view VR app. Outstanding purchase!!

Fantastic & Fun!
This is a game changer! I don’t enjoy regular video games. But I tried it once and knew that I wanted one. I wanted something immersive and it’s been the best fun. For a middle aged woman who hated video games, I’m now convinced that they can be fun, positively challenging and highly entertaining. I recommend getting a comfortable head strap. The strap it comes with is not comfortable. It was well worth the investment.

Premium VR system with top-tier performance
The Meta Quest 3 is an impressive step forward in standalone VR. It delivers sharp visuals, fast tracking, and a noticeably more immersive experience compared to earlier models. The headset is well-balanced and comfortable for extended play, and the interface feels smooth and intuitive. While it’s definitely on the expensive side, you’re getting a flagship experience. The newly released Quest 3S is a more budget-friendly version, but it doesn’t match the hardware power, mixed reality features, or display quality of the Quest 3. If you’re serious about VR gaming or immersive apps, the upgrade is worth it. It’s a great system — just be prepared to invest if you want the best performance Meta currently offers. ⸻ Q&A: Q: Is the Meta Quest 3 better than the new 3S? A: Yes — the Quest 3 has a faster processor, better display, and full-color mixed reality. The 3S is a cheaper, lower-end model. Q: Is it worth the high price? A: If you want the best standalone VR experience right now, yes — the performance justifies the price. Q: Is the Quest 3 easy to use for beginners? A: Absolutely. Setup is simple, and the interface is very user-friendly, even for first-time VR users.

A Massive Leap Forward from the Quest 2
As someone who has used the Meta Quest 2 extensively, upgrading to the Meta Quest 3 has been a game-changer in almost every way. While the Quest 2 was a fantastic introduction to VR, the Quest 3 feels like a true next-generation device that improves on its predecessor in nearly every category. What I Love About the Upgrade: Improved Visuals: The jump in resolution is immediately noticeable. The Quest 3’s displays deliver sharper, more vibrant visuals with 2064 x 2208 pixels per eye compared to the Quest 2’s 1920 x 1832. Text is easier to read, environments feel more immersive, and games like Red Matter 2, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners and Batman Arkham Shadow look stunning. It’s like upgrading to a new console generation. Powerful Performance: The Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip in the Quest 3 is twice as powerful as the XR2 Gen 1 in the Quest 2. This means faster load times, smoother gameplay, and better graphical fidelity. Even demanding games run effortlessly, and everything feels more responsive. Mixed Reality (MR): The addition of full-color passthrough cameras is a game-changer for mixed reality experiences. Unlike the Quest 2’s grainy black-and-white passthrough, the Quest 3 lets you see your surroundings clearly in color, blending virtual and real-world elements seamlessly. While MR apps are still limited, what’s available is fun and shows great potential for future experiences. Comfort and Design: The Quest 3 is slimmer and better balanced than the Quest 2, making it more comfortable for extended sessions. The new pancake lenses reduce bulk, and I find myself able to stay in VR longer without discomfort. Upgraded Controllers: The redesigned controllers are sleeker and more ergonomic without the bulky tracking rings of the Quest 2. They feel more precise, and haptic feedback has been improved for a more immersive experience. What Could Be Better: Battery Life: Unfortunately, battery life hasn’t improved much compared to the Quest 2. Both headsets last about 2–3 hours per charge, which is fine for casual sessions but might require frequent recharging during longer playtimes. Mixed Reality Content: While MR capabilities are impressive, there aren’t many apps or games that fully take advantage of it yet. This will likely improve over time as developers create more content tailored to these features.

We enjoy it!
Great product and fun to play! Runs great and I think the future is bright with VR. There is something for everyone on Meta so I just got a second one for my wife now too and it keeps us entertained! Buy the pro head strap because the one it comes with can be uncomfortable at times.

Great for PCVR or Meta VR.
Pretty good for PCVR and Meta VR. It is better than the Quest 2 or 3s. It has lots of storage. It may seem a little expensive, but it is heavily subsidized by Meta and you can't get a better VR at the same price.
