Pocket sized book reader for day and night
Bought two of these for my wife and myself to read when travelling and in bed with the light out. They replaced a previous generation kobo reader which didn't have a back light so needed external light to read in the dark. works well with all e books and a good selection of free or cheap classics in the Kobo on line library.

Easy to use.
I have over 700 books on mine and sometimes go through a series with the search. I did have trouble with my computer recognizing it but have managed to get round that. I have a little laugh when I watch videos of homes with numerous space guzzling books littered around. Get a reader fools. It is great for a flight or bus journey but remember when to get off. I can read it on the occasional sunny day outside too but best in my easy chair and go off on an adventure, wherever the book takes me. Everybody should have one, so light, easy to use. Fits in an inside pocket.

An excelent e-reader!
Long battery life, great screen resolution, has the option to automatically filter blue light and it reads epub and pdf... You can't go wrong!

Fun but not sturdy
Better than kindle in my opinion since you get comfort light for 100£ and Kindles with it are more expensive. I connect mine to an android phone and just transfer books of storage in epub form that kindle doesn't support, which is a shame. Going trough conversion with Calibre from epub to mobi is inconvenient on a phone while travelling and not always successful. Who doesn't love free books from project Gutenberg or your local library. Amazon ecosystem is cheaper if you only read books that you bought, but inconvenient if you read free and borrowed books. 4 stars because this is my second Kobo Clara. First one had a faulty screen and lines started to appear gradually, while Kobo decided it is not their problem to repair it, not can it be repaired. This device is not as sturdy as an old kobo glo, I suggest buying a case. I tried replacing the screen, however, the e-ink screen itself costs as much as the whole device. The inside of the device is stupid simple, with an 8GB micro SD card slot on a cheap chipset and a battery.

Ease of use and good battery life
This was a replacement for my Nook, of which I've had two over the years, both of which have now died. Now obsolete in the UK, I was seeking a suitable replacement. The Kobo has exceeded my expectations and I am delighted with it. I can transfer epub files, using the same software I used for my Nook (Adobe Digital Editions). Highly recommended, it's intuitive when using and has excellent adjustable back-lighting.

Love it, very happy.
Love it. Was on the fence between this and the Kindle Paperwhite, but chose this one as I don't need waterproof, and has better lighting than the Paperwhite. Also, don't have to pay extra to remove ads and offers. And not locked into Amazon's ecosystem.

This is coming in very handy for library ebooks
During these strange times of COVID-19 I'm finding this gadget very useful. I use it to read ebooks borrowed from my public library. It is very easy to set up and to use. I bought a cover but haven't borrowed to use it, as it made the Kobo too chunky. Although not a fan of ebook readers, in these times when I can't get at a library or bookshop, it does the job fine and I can see myself using on holidays in future.

Device delivered defective - seller wipes their hands.
I ordered a Kobo Clara HD from Modern Gadgets, which arrived in reasonable time. Taking it out of the box, and attempting to turn it on, I found immediately that it was defective. No sign of life from the devices, except the power light illuminating. The screen was dead and non-responsive. Checking Amazon for returns, I found I could only get a refund, when all I really wanted a device that worked, hence a replacement. Amazon customer service told me to contact seller if I wanted to do that. The seller replied promptly with a curt note telling me that I had bought it off Amazon, so I should talk to them or Kobo. Pretty pathetic in my opinion, using Amazon as a screen to shift products and then wipe your hands of any customer service to back up a faulty device they sold to me.

If you want an ereader that's cheap, good, and moddable, this is the one. There's a lot of software mods out there, but I find the default UI is totally fine. I don't want a device that can do everything, I want one that's comfortable and easy to use, and the vanilla UI is perfectly fine. However, if you like reading manga like I do, that 8gb of storage is gonna fill up fast. Luckily, the device is easy to open, and uses a regular SD card for storage. You just need to make an image of the drive it came with, flash it to a bigger SD card (I believe it has been tested to support up to 128gb), and use a tool to expand the storage partition of the card to fill the rest of the card. It uses a FAT32 filesystem, and the only one I could find that could do that for free was gparted. I used my linux laptop to do that, but I think there's a windows port and you could also always boot up a VM if needed. Just make sure you use a fast SD card. Don't cheap out on that. I've also had a few issues with managing books through Calibre even before doing the mod, but for the most part it's been easy to fix. One time I had an error where the database got borked, and had to factory reset it and reupload all my books. However I suspect that was a user error or something because I've had no issues like that since. The only problem I consistently have is that the metadata on new books are incorrect even if I manually update the metadata before ejecting, but the solution to that is just plugging it back in, updating metadata again, and then ejecting it. That always fixes it. I don't know why Kobo doesn't include a higher storage size by default, or even as an option. The mod is so easy and 8gb is really not enough for a system that supports cbr/cbz files. My only guess is that the extra storage space slows it down a bit when opening books, and it does- only a little bit, and only when opening a book- but that slowdown is probaby only present on big cards. My pick of 128gb is way overkill, but I wanted to be able to store everything on one device, including manga. OH yeah, one other little issue with big files- it can't load anything over 2gb. It appears in the filesystem when looking at the drive, but the device doesn't see it and it doesn't show up in Calibre. Luckily, for books that's a total non-issue, but for long comics like many popular manga, you'll have to split it up into multiple chunks. Personally, I wound up dividing long runs into multi-volume files, like "Jojolion Vol. 01-14" and Jojolion Vol. 15-27". Pretty easy workaround, and since cbz files are just zip files with a different extension, it's pretty easy to do. Overall, a great device, at a great price. The Android to Kindle's iPhone.

Solo tiene botón de ON/OFF y entrada USB.

Me encantó.... He usado Kindle, Nook de B&N y ahora éste Kobo. Me encanta el tamaño. La luz integrada. Puedes leer PDF, Epub TXT etc.. No pesa casi nada! Estupendo Ereader. La batería dura muchísimo! Y tiene capacidad para muchos libros

Bought the product and it became defective in less than 2 months. The screen has frozen and I cant get it to work. Ive tried for weeks by troubleshooting based on whatever tips Ive found online. Tried to ask the seller and was told that the warranty is only for 1 month... in that case, I tried to ask the seller what I can do but the seller does not seem to be responding. I dont recommend buying this
