Overall the build quality and setup are great, my cables fit into the port and the battery charges. Everything feels solid. I'll start off with my only complaint, and it's a very small one, not even that real. I had to look outside of the instruction booklet to find how to open my controller since I've never done it before. Just keep that in mind as a heads up. Please do not use a metal tool to open it up, the plastic pry included worked, you just need to get the tabs on the sides next to the D-Pad and input buttons, as well as the two below the analog sticks at the bottom of the bubble. As for the product itself, it works, and it does its job. As you can see in my photo, I could've done a better job with filing, but I made sure to check if my cables fit and they do so I'm leaving it as is. Make sure when using the cutting tool to get the pillars towards the charging port hole, and cut around the screw hole as well. Apart from that, it really is just digging a bit and cutting out some of the walls. The cables were a bit scary to install, but they're ribbon and that just comes with the territory.

Exactly what I was looking for. PS4 controller for my PC was my last non-USB-C device to charge. Kit comes with parts for two controllers and a bunch of cheap, functional tools to make the change. So far so, so good.

Kit makes it easy to install, works like a dream. Buy it. This will bring new life into your DualShock 4 instead of it just sitting on a shelf because Micro USB is old and bad.

great tools and everything to complete job but i was unable to get USB-C port to work, put it in controller and had to put original back LED did not work and was unable to charge.

Excellent. Easy to connect. The cutting blade is sharp & does cut the plastic of the controller but a file will work better.

Was tired of having to have a Micro USB cable to charge my PS4 controllers -- this set provided a quick and easy way to upgrade to USB-C. I used my own tools to file down the controller port hole to be large enough to hold USB-C, which was the hardest part of the upgrade.

I bought this because i had two old PS4 Controller that the micro USB ports had worn over time. The cables would not charge the controllers anymore. This kit made it super easy to change over to USB C ports! Super happy with this purchase. Just revived my two old controllers! Comes with good directions and tools . This does require you to take the controller apart and cutting and filing the port for the USB C since its slightly larger then the MICROUSB. Overall, modification and install was easy. Great Product!

The included tools make installation smooth as butter. The flat craft knife blade is fixed to a miniature 3D printed handle that’s far more appropriate for a job like this. I appreciate that ElecGear put in the effort to give measurements on how much plastic to trim. The precise values are nice to know for the sake of guidance, but go slow with your guesstimations in the trimming process and you probably won’t need to reach for any rulers. The miniature cylindrical file also made creating the rounded ends of the USB-C connector extremely simple. Smoothing out any and all rough edges was a breeze too. So far I have only installed one of these, and I used it with the ExtremeRate Decade remap shell for PS4. It’s a larger housing than the official controller shells, and uses a different plastic mold. I was a little concerned that the plastic was too thin already near the port on the ExtremeRate shell, but actually it fits perfectly. Which is great because I really wish they had a USB-C version of that shell. Thanks to this ElecGear kit, I made my own USB-C version. Can’t stress how much the flimsiness of micro USB frustrates me. Kind of feels like I have no use for a PS5 controller now, and this was way cheaper.

交換方法はネットで調べて実施。シェルを外すのは固かったが部品の交換事態は簡単。製品は良く、Typec充電ができ無駄なコードがなくなりありがたい。

Prodotto perfetto, richiede un po' di lavoro per essere installato correttamente ma la scatola contiene tutte le istruzioni dettagliate con foto, e gli utensili necessari per il lavoro. Una volta finito il joypad caricava senza problemi e si è connesso perfettamente al mio Mac ed alla mia ps5 usando il cavo. Ho recuperato due joypad seminuovi in mezz'ora, per cui avrei altrimenti dovuto tenere un cavo micro USB apposta.
