Peg Perego Orion Front Mount Child Seat

This seat is amazing! My kiddo loves being able to sit forward, and we always get smiles from people we pass. It's much easier to balance than a rear-mounted seat and feels safer - I can see him at all times and it's sturdy. It's lightweight, which is what I wanted instead of having to haul a trailer behind my bike. A fantastic feature is being able to easily remove the seat from its mount for when baby isn't coming along. It's overall very easy to install, as well. The most difficult part is customizing it to your specific bike style/size (but it's great that it's pretty universal with all the extra pieces included!). My only very small complaints are that, even mounted as far forward as my bike will allow, my knees still hit it (I do not have long legs at all!) unless I bow them out very slightly, which can cause them to hurt a little after a long ride and I also cannot stand up to go uphill with the seat mounted. Other than that, I couldn't be happier!

We have owned this seat for over a year and i am finally making a review. This seat is awesome. It is easy to ride with it on and i feel so secure with my little one in front. We go on bike rides daily and he is always so happy to get buckled in. It is very study and well made. I love design details. My son has been using it since he was 1yr old and still fits comfortably a year later. I recommend this seat for bike loving parents.

This seat is Fantastic. The seat is of good quality and is well made. The seat doesn't seem to flex or bounce too much so it is quite sturdy and reassure me that my little one is safe. The install was pretty straight forward and didn't take that long. TIP: Check the bolts and re-tighten any bolts that may have become loose due to vibration. Use nylon lock bolts if you have them, or use an extra nut on each bolt.My little one absolutely loves going on bikes rides. She is able to experience the joy of the ride more and see everything around instead of sitting behind me and getting a sight of my backside. The location of the seat also makes it comfortable for the bike rider and doesn't obstruct my view or ability to reach the handlebars.Also, the seat is very easy to remove and takes about 5 seconds to remove and put it back on.If you enjoy riding your bike, and want to bring the little one, this is the seat for you. Sturdy and non-obstructed riding makes it enjoyable for both riders.

I tried three different seats for my Scott mountain bike. 1. Ibert safe t seat- this was the easiest to install and would probably grow with my daughter the longest, but it lacked back support, shoulder straps fell a lot, seemed like a flimsy way of securing the seat to the bike, there was a lot of wiggle in the seat because it was only connected to the bar by one cotter pin. 2. Thule Yepp Nexxt Mini- this would’ve been my favorite seat. It was so Light weight and well made. Unfortunately my ahead stem diameter was too large for the mounting bracket. Even if I could have gotten it to mount, the feet of the seat landed exactly where my fork was. My bike was just not compatible with the seat. 3- brings me to the Orion seat. Third time is a charm. This seat seems smaller than the previous two. I doubt I’ll get as much use out of it due to that. But the way it mounts to my bike seems extremely secure, it comes up high enough to provide some more back support, have built in suspension to help absorb some bumps. The shoulder straps stay in place. I do bump my knees in this seat ever so slightly where as the ibert I did not at all, but it doesn’t bother me and I don’t have to ride bow legged. The cons I see with this seat is the padding is a bit firm, it does affect my ability to turn my handlebars, and I don’t like how the legs on the seat are splayed outwards, it seems like an uncomfortable and unnatural way for a young baby to sit (well really for anyone to sit like that), but I figured for the amount of time my daughter will be in the seat I’m not too concerned. So I reckon this is the seat I’ll keep.

Love love love this toddler seat! Our son is 17mo, about 30”, and 25lbs. He fits great and loves being able to see. I’m 5’8” and able to ride comfortably with him. His head does bump my chest at times and occasionally my knees hit his seat but I’m not at all uncomfortable riding. The bike cannot make hairpin turns with the seat attached but leisure riding around town is easily done. It was easy to install once I understood the IKEA-style picture directions.

Very lightweight compact seat. My wife installed the seat in about 30 minutes on her schwinn beach cruiser bike. She wasn't able to find any videos online showing someone installing this particular seat and the printed instructions weren't great but for the most part it was pretty easy to figure out. One nut came damaged but she was able to make it work. After she got it installed she took our 14 month old son out for a ride. The seat felt sturdy and our son never wanted to get out of the seat. We had an ibert years ago for our first daughter. we loved the ibert baby seat so much but it didn't work with the schwinn handlebars so my wife had been hunting for something similar. Looking forward to many fun family bike rides with this bike seat.

We initially bought another bike seat (same style) off Amazon that was not sturdy AT ALL. We got this as an alternative/replacement and it is 100% better. Our 25 pound one-year-old feels safe and sturdy, and loves to sit on the front. The only thing the other brand had that this one doesn't have, is a little fake steering wheel for the baby to play with while you're riding. I've attached a little toy to the front and it seems to keep him busy enough to suffice.
