Very nice kit of tools and supplies for building ethernet cables. I have built two cables so far. I am not going to say it was easy, but that is just because you have to get all of the wires in the correct slot. I would say that pass through connectors would be a nice upgrade. Those are easy to order separately. Very nice to get the tester. The crimping tool works great.

This is a complete kit for twisted pair cable termination. It includes tools for RJ45, and RJ11 connectors. It includes a punch down tool for keystone jacks, wire strippers, flush wire cutting tool, some plugs and accessories. The wire strippers work well and the punch down tool/trimmer works fine as well. There is a nice tester for testing cables and it works ok (needs 9 volt battery). The crimpers work ok, but do not have the fell of professional crimpers I have used (I am certified cable installer). They are adequate for light/occasional use. They do not trim pass thru connectors, but does include trimmers - just an extra step . There does seem to be a pass-thru model available that automatically trims when crimping. I would recommend these for home/light use but for heavy, professional use I would opt for a higher end model.

What I like about this kit is it comes with just about everything you need to get a wiring job done. The punch down tool is the same quality as the one I already have. The crimpers are adequate for the tasks. What I like about this kit is it comes with the little cylindrical strippers. They're unique, not what I'm used to, but they work rather well. It all fits in a small case for storage, fits perfectly in the side pockets of my tool bag. Price for value, this one's hard to beat.

After second try the tester doesn’t work any more

This is a good entry level kit to learn and understand network cable. I got this for my son to get a understanding of what he would be doing before he attends a class on it. This is a great little set for learning or light use.
