Missing parts after all that money spent
EDIT: the seller took less than 12 hours to respond and sent the missing part out so i appreciated the quick response time.Seems well built. Arrived today. You think after spending that much money they would at least make sure you have all the parts. It's missing a bolt for the wheel, I searched the box twice, even looked through the other bags that the pieces are wrapped in nothing. Honestly super annoyed

Back yard home owner not for mass production
The media could not be loaded. This machine is easy to clean and made of mostly good materials. The only thing I thought could have been better material wise is the bolts should have had a torques bit not a Phillips. I was only able to run one chicken at a time through the plucker as two chickens would stop the motor. It was not easy to assemble but it was not hard either. Hard for me to compare between this plucker and any other as the only other plucker I have used is a feathermans and this can not compete with the industrial standard of a feathermans plucker. However if you are only doing 50 or so chickens in a year this plucker is much better than doing it by hand.

Chicken plucker
Full disclosure I have not used this yet. I butchered all my chickens for this year already so this won’t get used until next fall. This chicken plucker is very heavy and feels like good quality. I like the set up for how feathers and water come out. The rubber fingers feel durable. The wheels are good size making it easier to move along the ground. The drum pops off with four clips making clean up easier. Overall, I am happy with this chicken plucker. I will update this review if I have an issues.

Works well
So, assembly was a bit of a PITA. The lower leg supports would not go on to save my life, it took myself and my husband throwing our entire weight against it and using vice grips to be able to get those installed. Everything else was pretty easy and straight forward and I managed to get it done by myself. It works very well, it's super sturdy and durable. Great well built item.

Upgrading to a tub style plucker for faster processing
I have been holding off from ordering a Yard Bird plucker for years. There are plenty of online instructions for diy tub style pluckers, but I am not quite ambitious enough. I have hand plucked, used a drill style pluckers, and used a horizontal motor driven plucker, but tub style is the way to go for overall ease and efficiency. The large wheels and handle make this plucker easy to move in and out of the storage shed and across the lawn to my outdoor processing area. The rubbery fingers are gentle enough to remove feathers without ripping skin but also feel like they will be durable enough to last and, hopefully are able to be replaced if damaged. The motor for this is 1.5 hp. I think this is adequate for a couple of the normal 8 week old meat birds at a time. I have to admit, I normally raise big meaty 10+ pounders, and 1 at a time is the max. I have not used this with turkeys and have not tried ducks. I do wish there was a little more power and, maybe, a little bit bigger drum.I think getting the right scalding temperature is the most important part to achieving the best results with this plucker.
