Lots of fun, my kids love this water activity
My one son is very interested in science and experiments. When he received this for Christmas, he was super excited. In the box you get (2) creatures that are in what I would call very similar to a bath bomb. The following items come with (2) beakers, the tongs, stirring stick and the main unit with technology compartment to hold creature and the tubes. You fill the beakers up with water, we added color to our water to add some more fun too it. It doesn't matter what temp your water is, as the creature bath bomb will start to fizz once water is added. It takes a little bit if you place the ball in with care. My son cracked his first ball and it fizzled too quickly. This is a lot of fun, and it's for all ages... my son is 8 yrs old and even my 10 yr old likes it and our 4yr old niece. Make sure where ever they play it that you don't mind a water mess, because it gets messy! Easy to clean up its just water. Also comes with other activities to use the machine for, but I suggest you purchase extra creatures like we did to continue the fun. Pros Fun experiment Keep kids entertained You hatch a small creature Has other activities to do with unit Cons Water mess Only 2 creatures included

Excellent bath toys!
Easily the best toy under the tree this year for Christmas. Even though the toy says it's for age 5+, my four year old boy loves this toy. He loved filling up the breakers with water and plunging the water through the chambers and making a whirlpool effect. If you have a kid that likes doing experiments, this toy is for you. Fair warning: this toy is very messy. It would be good to use it with a big plastic tray underneath (like a cafeteria lunch tray) to hold all the excess water. When using the actual creature that comes with it, it will foam over the edge of the container and onto the table. It's great fun, though. My child has been laughing like a mad scientist since he got it. *Update* if you're looking to get more use out of this toy, the beakers from this set are the BEST bath toys! Add a small bath bomb and suddenly there's a volcano in the bath! The beakers are plastic so no danger of breaking and the shape makes them float on the surface like a bouy.

Just buy it!
We bought the whole set including extra pods and our son LOVES it! We just spent 2 hrs playing with it, we are a science family and this product is just Phonomal! The product shown here is what I would consider the started, it's pretty easy to set up and clean. I did have it explode on me when we first attempted to push the water into the beaker with the egg because it was kinked lol. It can be very messy but it's so worth it! I've seen a few comments about staining but we have a black glass table so didn't have that issue and it didn't stain any skin or tools we used to clean up. Each pod came with a small identifying card and a mini poster with a quiz on the back which was a great time killer while the pods dissolved. (Each pod took about 5 mins to dissolve unless we stirred it) This came with 2 pods. I would recommend this to everyone who like Hatchamels, surprise eggs, or bath bombs. (These say they aren't bath bombs thoug so don't try that lol) we bought it for our 7 year old but we all enjoyed it!

Chambers to create liquid reactions messy but fun
Beaker Creatures Liquid Reactor Super Lab comes with 15 pieces and 2 beaker creatures. The creatures are in a fizzy bath bomb that you have to drop in the water to find out what the mystery creatures are. This lets kid’s experiment with liquid substance and see their reactions. There is a main cup like chamber that is connected via tubings to two plunger components. You can use the plungers to suck the water out of main chamber or to insert two different liquids into the main chamber. There are two beakers and a stirring stick for the kids to mix things up. Both our five and nine year old like to see how colors mix together by using food coloring. They also used the main chamber to make slime. The toy is intended for kids ages five and up. Only negative was it was a bit tricky to hook up the tubings to the main chamber. Also can be a bit messy so would recommend putting a tray with a lip under the toy to catch any spills.

My 5 year olds are obsessed!
My twin girls absolutely love the reactor! They got it as a part of a few different beaker creature sets. That said, a bit if advice- I would NOT get this kit as your starter set. Instead, if this is your first beaker creature kit, get the alien lab kit with the smaller beaker and the collander to start. The reason being is that kit provides the tools and instructions needed to create new pods using things you can get from the grocery store. This way you're not having to constantly buy new pods and can just make new ones for the various experiments they list. If you get just this kit you don't get what is needed to make new pods, though they do include instructions on how to use the kit for additional experiments. Make sure you pay attention to the instructions when putting it together and it will work perfectly and not leak. I will say that the instructions weren't super clear on how to remove the syringes from their holders at the beginning but it shows you how to remove them later in the instructions. Remove them properly to get water for the towers and don't just pour the water in and plug it because the water will flow into the container too soon. In comparison to other popular toys that have you "mix and reveal", this is way less expensive and I'll be purchasing new creatures as rewards for good behavior and great performance at school. I recommend this for any kid that loves doing science experiments at home.

Good little kit the extra little science lab tools that come with it are useful as well haven’t seen anywhere else where I can find nice large plastic beakers. To the people that are saying their child could not push down both chambers, Make sure you are taking out the slack of the tubing look underneath as in my experience the tubes wanted to naturally kink and pulling the slack up help to relieve this my three-year-old was able to push both down at the same time. Only thing that I found a little frustrating but understandably overlooked was that the chambers set a bit higher than the reservoir and thus gravity takes over and you will end up with water in the reservoir before you start pumping. The work around for this Was to first fill up the chambers pump the water into the reservoir and then pull the water back creating vacuum stopping the water from seeping into the reservoir so that you have a dry reservoir if that’s important to you.

The set is pretty cool and my soon really enjoyed preparing everything for the experiment. Personally, i was diasppointed that the balls did not make any bubbles at all... a bath bomb would have made much more bubbles. For a science kit, it is not that much it offers. We will try to reuse it and try to make other experiments with it!
