Second copy is amazing!
Update: This is a game changer. It is literally a few seconds' wait to heat up to your selectable(100-400 Celsius) operating temp! Almost as quickly, it's cooled back to room temp when you're done. It's tiny, solidly built, and has an OLED display for a variety of info. interchangeable replacement tips are one screw, trivial to do. This one comes with a power brick that serves up 24v @3 amps, so you get the full power potential of the iron with it. It will operate down to 10v, for battery powered soldering jobs away from your workbench. End of update. The first one arrived, I plugged it in with its included 24V power supply, and turned it on. In a few (maybe 6) seconds, the tip was glowing orange. Glowing orange metal is around 2100 C. Solder melts at about 190 C. The iron's default setting was 300 C. The temp reading was showing -3 C while the tip was glowing orange. I'll update if the replacement iron works as expected.

Best soldering iron I've ever had
I was watching an episode of Adam savage one day builds and he was building an soldering stand in which he was talking about how much he loved this particular iron . So being in the market for a better iron I was interested. He explained how he'd left a link in the description and here is were it brought me . I'll say this I love it super fast to heat up and cool off 300c douse well for the led grow lights I'm building and also has an automatic shutdown after not being touched after a few minutes.. and it's portable too .. I'm definitely buying another and extra tips I love this little thing.

This is an AWESOME soldering iron
The quick heat up and recovery combined with super accurate heat control are make this a really nice soldering iron. Add to that the ability to run from a battery and customize-able firmware make this a versatile and "geek friendly" tool. My only big complaint is that the handle is small and slippery with no collar between it and the hot parts. Also, because there is no collar on the handle, this soldering iron doesn't work well with most iron holders designed for more traditionally sized soldering tools. I had to make one that worked - wrapping wire around a Sharpie makes a coil just about the right size.

Fantastic soldering iron AND extremely portable.
A great soldering iron. Very small, but pretty high wattage. I've used it on 12 gauge power wires on some of my bigger RC models with no problems. Works basically as well as the soldering station I was using before. As a bonus, it can trivially run off a 3s to 6s lipo battery with a XT60 connector. It even comes with a cable for it. My previous field repair iron was twice the size and 1/3rd the wattage. The only mild gripe with any of the TS100 irons is that despite being rated for 24v, no-one ships with a 24v PSU. edit: They contacted me saying there was a run of bad power supplies and offered to replace it. edit2: The replacement power supply came and it works great, runs at a much higher wattage now than the 16v laptop PSU I had. --original review-- The iron works fantastic, but the power supply that it came with drops out when the iron heats up and causes the iron to reset. (Another reviewer had the same issue) Fortunately I had another power supply from an old laptop that works fine with it. Since you can get the same iron elsewhere with (apparently?) working power supplies, I couldn't recommend getting it from here at all.

By far the soldering iron I have used
By far one the best soldering iron I have used. It is very portable and even can be ran off of batteries and it has a very fast heat up time. The tip is holding up almost as well as some of the higher end soldering stations that I have used but I have also abused it a lot seeing what the iron could do. I ended up using third-part firmware (iron-os) on it but that was only due to the fact that I mostly am using it off of batteries and it provides a bit more information. While the tip holds the temperature fairly well it does appear to run slightly on the cool side, running 370-375 instead of the 360 that I was using on my previous setup and the iron at my work.

Best Portable soldering iron by far!
If you are looking for a portable , programmable, modular soldering iron this is by hands down the best! Can be used for everything from automotive soldering from 14 Gauge wires to the smallest 18 Gauge wire. For RC racing , on the field use it works wonders. There is nothing like it for the price! I like the 400F which is more than what you need for most electronic field work. For Modularity - you can buy extra tiips from small miniature tips to flat iron . For Power the electric cord is basic, but its the connecter that you can pick up along with a 2S or 4S LiPo battery that truly makes it portable.

Great Soldering Iron, replaced my Weller
I bought the NovelLife 65W Mini TS100 Electric Soldering Iron Kit, mainly to solder capacitors to Through-Hole 1970's vintage single sided circuit boards to repair 2.4KW to 12KW Studio Dimmer Trigger circuits. It works better than my old iron and I like that it heats up rapidly and shows me the temperature. It is also great that this purchase came with a 24V power supply. I use my old Weller stand for the new NovelLife TS100.

Does not work at all
Device won't read the tip. It tries to, starts heating, but the moment you touch the tip to anything or solder wire touches the tip the screen says No Tip and stops heating. Which is awesome cuz it costs nearly 100$ and now I can't return it without paying for shipping or driving 30+ mins to a drop off location

Device works as promised.

i was looking for a good small soldering iron, so I got this because it was reccomended. But the cable is very thick and short and it keeps sliding off the table. it also came with a US cable, despite being sold on amazon.com.au and considering it cost $108, it is NOT acceptable to include the wrong cable! I had to go buy another cable just to make it work!
