Great torch for baking/cooking!
I’ve been using this torch for about a week after eying a blowtorch for months (a need I never knew I had until quarantine baking hit!) Since I’ve gotten it, I’ve been using it to torch on everything- from s’mores cupcakes/cookies, to torching the top of my sashimi to create actually restaurant-grade rolls. This was definitely the investment I never knew I needed! The hardware feels hefty, solid in hand, and comes in a packaged box that looks really decadent and keeps the torch well protected during shipping. I had not expected this out of a $20 torch. The only downside (which is probably more of a fault of my own than anyone else’s for not reading properly) is that I didn’t know it didn’t come with the butane gas, so I had to run out and get it. But it was easy to obtain and I was able to get torching that evening. Highly recommend this for any home cooks hoping to bring this cooking/baking to the next level!

Golden gem of a lighter
This is byfar the best torch lighter I can find. I've been through dozens of these things and settled on this one about a year or more ago. It still works but I noticed that I have to hold the trigger firmly or the flame gets small so I just rebought the same lighter. It's good because it's finger trigger and the jet hole (where the flame comes out) is extra large diameter meaning you can get a huge, easily controlled flame. The gold and silver colors don't hurt at all. It's very compact for the flame size and it conserves gas. Also, there's no silly child lock. The best ever!

Looks Aren't Everything
As I had been searching for the perfect kitchen torch for a few weeks at this point, I had finally come across the IDEACone Premium Butane Torch. I may not be the first to state it, but looks definitely aren't everything. I went for this particular torch because it matched my kitchen decor, and had slightly above average ratings and reviews. Well, this torch turned out to be the biggest nightmare I've ever had to deal with in the kitchen. From opening the item out it's packaging, I knew that it was not going to meet my expectations due to how inexpensive the materials of the actual device felt to the touch. The "metal" designed pieces on the device itself feel as though they are not made of metal, but of plastic. And the actual plastic pieces feel as though they were cheaply assembled somewhere overseas. All in all, the device felt very light (even after filling with butane), when it was expected to have a fair amount of weight & sturdiness to it.After filling and during the first use, I had quickly became aware that my purchase was a mistake due to the lock switch (on the side) not functioning properly. It had appeared to be stuck in between the "Lock" & "Unlock" positions. When attempting to switch it to the "Lock" position, it had felt like someone spilled something sticky in the switch itself, thus causing the switch to not be able to move freely to the desired position. So, this was one feature that was already unusable at this point. Along with the switch being non-operational, there was also an issue with the dial used to increase/decrease the size of the flame. This issue consisted of the dial simply not performing its essential function when being turned. This was extremely disappointing due to requiring the flame to be smaller for certain dishes being prepared. The next discrepancy I noticed with the torch was just after three weeks of purchasing and utilizing it, that the igniter had started to fail, causing the flame to not light properly when squeezing the trigger. At this point, I had to actually use a second lighter to kickstart the ignition of the flame on the torch itself due to it not igniting on it's own. This was extremely unfortunate, as when in the kitchen it is convenient to be holding the device and utilizing it with one hand.Lastly, what sparked me writing this review in the first place is because of what had happened just a few days ago. I was in my kitchen, preparing a dish that required the use of the torch. Upon retrieving the device from where it was stored, it had accidentally slipped from my hands and fell (no more than 4 feet off of the ground, mind you). This is when I became very upset, because when you spend your hard-earned money on something, you'd expect it to be sturdy enough to withstand a small ding or two. But this was not the case with this torch at all, as once the device had hit the ground (linoleum flooring) it had busted into several pieces and is now unusable.Overall, sadly I would have to state that I would not recommend this particular brand or device to a friend, due to the lack of durability within the product itself. If you're in need of a quality kitchen torch, I would definitely try to locate it at a Bed Bath & Beyond or another well-known home goods storefront. I feel as though these days, we rely on cheaply made products that come from overseas (75% of the time). Hopefully after reading this review, it will encourage you to make a change and shop locally. Whether it be a big-name storefront, or a small business, your contribution to the support of the physical storefront is what counts.

Nice design, simple to use, very lightweight
This is actually my first butane torch and I got for my boyfriend, and he loves steak so I decided to get him one.Design 5/5 : The box that it comes in is overall very nice. I liked how the item looked in the picture and it came in exactly as shown.Material 3/5: When I first opened the package though the first thing I noticed is that it is very light so it does not make me think it would be very durable. The only metal part I seem to feel it the tip. The rest of it, although it looks metal it is made out of plastic so that doesn't give me the best feeling since it's a flammable item.Structure 4/5: There is a lock switch when you want to turn it off. But it is still very easy to flip the switch so definitely keep the item out of reach. There's an adjustable nozzle in the back and that's pretty much it so it makes the item simple to use.Since this is my first time getting an item, I am not sure how it compares, but I would say that it does it's job so far. I will probably update after my boyfriend uses it more though.Note for first-time users: Butane is inputted from the bottom. It's pretty easy to put butane into the device.
