Premium feel, high specs, worked perfectly in tests
The hub arrived on the same day. It was well packaged. The reverse provided detailed technical specs. The inside packaging was nicely done. The hub itself is made of metal and the finish and prints are nice and sharp. Overall, the item itself as well as the packaging gives a premium feel. I tried out all the ports. I have provided the input PD port with a 75 watt USBC charger and the output was 85 watts to my Macbook Pro. This is with 2 external storage disks connected, so I would expect some drop in power to power the connected accessories. I do not have a full 5Gpbs USB3.2 or 10Gbps USBC capable storage devices, but tested storage speeds on external SSD as well as spinning drives and storage speeds were at the full device spec speeds for these devices. Hence, I am confident of the ports provide the throughput they state. Note the USBC ports do not support display, hence the hub cannot be used between a USBC display monitor and the laptop. However, the hub has an HDMI port that can be used to connect to the HDMI display port of the monitor. The hub also has a Gigabit ethernet port. I have tested this with 0.5GBPS internet connection and the hub has performed perfectly, showing the full speed in speed tests. All in all, it is a pretty handy 9-in-1 USB extension hub with high specs and a premium make.

A convenient and sturdy hub, compatible with Mobile Devices
I really like this hub, it's surprising strong and sturdy with a nice metal case. So far I've found all of it's connectivity to be of good speed and reliable. I'm particularly happy about how easily it works with my iPad and Phone with the HDMI allowing me to view my movies and shows on a TV screen on the go and being able to connect to my harddrive for extra space on my iPad has been very useful when exporting video projects. It's very convenient that it doesn't external require power to use but it also gives you the option to use it's power input to charge your device whilst using it which is great for extended watch sessions. The SD and MicroSD (TF) readers are useful too as I don't have a SD card reader on my PC. I'm very impressed with this product so far, honestly all my items from RSHTECH have been great quality for the price point.

Quality build and superb connectivity.
This unit is a must for any laptop user. Instantly recognised by my computer and provides easy and fast download of even the largest video files. As you can see from the picture the cable could have been longer but this is my only complaint and as it's really meant for a laptop I can see the logic in a short cable. If you want to download files from a memory card then this is your best choice for a rapid transfer. With a 60 GB file the body gets warm but not hot, so safe to rest on any surface. Faster than my built in memory card reader with a lot more interface options.

Great hub for a laptop
This latest RSHTECH hub arrived the day after the order, in a small solid box that would fit through a letter box. It does not require a separate power supply. It is 11x4x1 cm and aluminium cased with a usb c connector, I gets warm on continued use but never hot. I connected to the laptop with no difficulty and all the sockets work really well . The SD one reads a 128Gig card in secs. The HDMI socket runs at 60Hz. All the other sockets are performing well . I use 2 different RSHTECH hubs with my laptop to connect my numerous devices such as scanner, printer, SSds, music, DVD drive. They are left on my desk positioned with small patches of velcro for position and convenience and so that they do not slip. This hub is small enough to easily fit in my laptop bag for on the go use. The only sockets that could be added to this unit would be ethernet and audio to make this the ultimate hub. RSHTECH are easy to deal with, reply the same day to queries and happy to replace any item that is not right for a particular set up. Update in August 2025. The sd card reader has failed after the docking hub has been used all & every day since purchase. After contacting RSH Tech by email they immediately replied and offered a replacement . This rapid and appropriate response is typical of their ongoing customer support and shows their commitment to their products which they have shown to me even after years since purchase. This inspires greater confidence when buying these computer peripherals, and is a salutary example to some of their competitors.

Decent compact high speed USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 hub
This is a review for the RSHTECH 4 port USB C Hub, Model RX04. Packaging is a manufacturers box with a brief instructional leaflet and the hub itself, packed in it's own plastic resealable pouch. The aluminium gunmetal grey design looks minimalist and chic with it's unobtrusive soft blue power indicator. The rubberised captive cable, with some strain relief, is 9.5" long so the hub will sit close to your device. There is a dust cover fitted to the USB Type-C connector. Warranty is for 18 months. You get 4 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with a theoretical data transfer speed of up to 10Gbps provided all the USB ports, cables, and connected devices on your device also support the 10Gbps standard. The new Gen 2×2 and 2×1 mode also reduce the overhead from 20% to just 3% with the USB 3.2’s new 128b/132b encoding scheme; hence, you see better effective throughput. Actual real world speed will vary depending upon whether you are reading or writing data, file size and associated equipment. It is backwards compatible with earlier USB standards but the speed will drop accordingly. These USB version numbers are confusing and don't mean much as USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 are all interchangeable and operate at 5 Gbps while USB 3.1 Gen 2 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 are the same, operating at 10 Gbps. The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) would like manufacturers to adopt the term 'SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps' for 3.2 Gen 2 devices. Compatible with USB-C/USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 3/4 devices. Windows, Mac OS, Linux Chrome OS, iPad OS, Android and more. NOTE: USB 3.2 ports cannot be used to charge cellphone's or other devices and are suitable for data transfer only and do NOT support charging or video streaming. It will support hard drives, flash drives, mice, keyboards, and similar USB Type-C devices, is Plug and play and no driver is required. Bottom line: If you need a small USB-C type 4 port hub that looks smart, will fit in your pocket, provides a decent level of performance whilst also providing some degree of future proofing this one from RSHTECH will suit your needs. I have bought other RSHTECH USB Hubs before. They look good, perform well and, to date, have never let me down.

Great little hub for extra usb C ports
This is a great little hub for pcs or laptops that need extra USB-c ports for peripherals. You get 4 ports USB-C ports, sharing the 10gbit speed, and it supplied enough power for devices that needed it. My use case came from my desktop only having 1 USB-C port - I needed more. To test this out, I had 4 devices hooked up. Webcam at 4k iPad, iPhone, and a 128GB SD card through a type C reader. All were detected and worked flawlessly. It could even charge the iPhone and iPad at the same time, but this will only be supplying USB BUS power - this is not a powered hub, so don't expect super speed charging, that's not what this device is for. Nevertheless I was impressed it could still provide charge to both at the same time. My SD read speeds were the same whether connected directly to the USB-C port or through the hub so its not causing any added latency. and i tried doing a transfer from iPhone whilst also benchmarking the SD card and browsing files on iPad and there were no issues as there was plenty of bandwidth. So if you only have 1 USB-C port and just want 3 more in a small device, this is the hub for you. With more and more devices going type C, older PCs will need hubs like this.

Well built and very useful
Works really well and it feels great quality. There's enough available ports to cover everything your average person would need, and even power users should be happy with the selection. It can be powered directly by the laptop, but typically that won't support many USB devices, so there's also a power input that has the very handy "pass through" feature that can charge the laptop at the same time. Although it's mainly designed for laptop use, I tried it out on the Steam Deck, and within minutes I had it playing on the TV via HDMI with 2 USB controllers connected. It's a fully viable and cheaper alternative to the official docking station. The ethernet port is a nice touch, though it's something I personally don't think I'd ever need. All in all it's a very impressive product and one I'd definitely recommend.

It does everything well
I liked how compatible it is with various operating systems. I use Linux and MS Windows and had no trouble connecting and using the device on both systems. There was the expected speedy copying of files small and large. Working with TransFlash and SD cards was also error free. Writing a disk image to USB drive was fine. Connections to all external equipment went without a hitch. Powering devices through the PD was measured and had the expected voltage and current draw for whichever device was connected. I like the fact that the cable is only 300 mm and braided for extra durability. I don't like cables trailing more than they need to. The little unit feels solid and not plasticky in any way - it is mainly aluminium! What else is there to say? If you have any questions the staff at RSHTech are very willing to help. Packaging was good and the item arrived on time, from Amazon UK. I used a stock photo but to be honest my own photo would have been the same, only perhaps less tidy.

Específico para MacBook Air
Es el accesorio necesario para conectar dispositivos de almacenamiento externo. El MacBook Air va muy escaso de conectores.

Lightweight and portable
First thing I noticed was how thin the box was. It is definitely portable. It fits well in my laptop bag to take with me so that I can use a wired/wireless mouse when I meet with my clients. I like that this hub has 2 USB-A ports and still has two USB-C ports. I can plug it into my USB-C port on my laptop and it increases my available USB-A ports to four (4) instead of the two standard that come pre-installed without sacrificing my USB-C port. I like to plug a full-size keyboard, mouse, external hard drive and flash drive into my laptop so that I can use it like I would a desktop. The standard laptop does not have enough ports; but with this extension, I can plug in all my peripherals. The case is made of durable metal but is still very lightweight. I believe every laptop needs a USB hub. Even desktops have limited USB ports on the front, and you have to reach around the desktop tower to plug in a device. With this USB hub, there is no need to plug into the back of the computer. You have easy and quick access to plug in whatever you need for however long you want. No need to unplug a flash drive so that you can plug in a portable hard drive. No need to unplug your mouse so that you can plug in an external CD/DVD player.

Great Hub for Laptop/Desktop Users
***update - I've been using this hub for 3 weeks now and if anything I like it more than when I got it. Inaddition to just working (see original review): - The long cable allows me to attach the hub to the underside of my desk so the desktop stays clear of cables. If you are fanatical about cable management you'll love this. See last two photos. - It works seamlessly with the RSHTECH USB 3.2/USB C Switch. The previous hub that I was using would crash every few days and require rebooting both the hub and the switch. --- Original review I use an Apple MacBook Pro laptop and a Dell Micro desktop PC, and I share a monitor between these two computers. I am using this RSHTECH USB C hub to connect my Macbook to the monitor via HDMI, and also to an Arturia audio interface and wired ethernet. Set up is trivial. There are two HDMI outputs for multiple monitors - I only used one so I connected my monitor via HDMI. I connected the power supply to the PD input (a USB C connection) and connected the audio interface to one of the other two USB outputs. The hub also has three USB A sockets which is useful because Apple no longer puts these connections on their laptops. The hub comes in packaging that looks like it can be easily recycled. I immediately noticed an improvement in video quality over the device I was replacing. The monitor is set to 4K and the graphics are stable. Watching 4K, 60 fps videos on YouTube full screen, the video is smooth and clear. This is a definite improvement over the hub I am replacing. There is no appreciable increase in latency when recording audio through the Arturia MiniFuse4. I recorded an analog drum machine in Logic sync’d to Logic’s clock so I could see the latency. Based on this visible inspection there was basically no difference in latency between plugging the audio interface into the hub vs. plugging it directly into the laptop. Again this is an improvement over my previous hub. Playing audio through the audio interface is glitch free. I use both wired and wireless network, plugging an ethernet cable into this hub. The document says it is Gigabit ethernet - I have no way of testing this but the wired network is faster than my internet connection so that’s good. I connected and disconnected the hub several times and each time it reconnected with the right screen resolution and the right set of devices. The hub is solidly built and has an 11 inch cord which is longer than other hubs. The only down side is that the hub is a little bulky, about the width of a pair of glasses, because of all the outputs, but the long cord means that you can tuck it out of the way. All in all a great product - I am very happy.

Very light and works well
I needed a light portable USB hub to take for my travels, and this one came up in my search. I hooked up one NVMe external drive, two external SSD drives, and one USB thumb drive. All powered on and got connected to my laptop. I got ~1GB/s for the NVMe drive, so the transfer speed was close enough to the maximum speed and acceptable to me. I didn't need this one for video, but I wanted to let others know that this doesn't support video streaming or PD charging, so you can only use it for data transfer.
