Q: Is this a genuine Heliocare product? The main ingredient "polypodium" is mispelled as plyodium.

I don't know as I threw out my bottle. I believe that my skin was getting more freckles or pigment. My doctor gave me samples which said that Heliocare is available at CVS. I don't know if the one Amazon carries is the same or not. I hope this helps.

Q: does it prevent tanning?

No. You can still tan with this product, but it will take longer than if you were going out into the sun completely unprotected.

Q: I have used tbe Heliocare in the 30 capsule bottle and have noticed that the Heliocare 60 capules bottle the capsules look different in color. Why?

I have no idea. I just had the 60 capsule bottle. Sometimes color differences are due to different doses in the pills.
